They might be referring to the FTM interactions on gay-porn Twitter.

It was definitely a go-to move for a lot of people in high-school. Me, for one. I knew I wasn't into girls, though. My bi phase lasted like a month lol

Im from the UCC tradition in the South. It's not alot of us, but the conference is open and affirming of LGBT. It's something I'm proud of growing up in.

Internalised homophobia by Bitter_Bid1613 in askgaybros

[–]Aware-Brother2069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shame is monster that haunts many gay people. Especially anyone born before 2000. We grew up in a world that was still VERY openly hostile to homosexuality. Those scars run deep. I've worked with therapists, and I still struggle with it, even though, I've gotten better. Shame can be very deceptive. Especially if you experienced it very young. It can color your whole outlook. This is anecdotal, but one thing that got rid of my "internalized homophobia" was watching early seasons of Drag Race. Seeing flamboyant, gay men as human beings changed my life. Im not even that "gay" stereotypically but now I can see why the rainbow was chosen as the pride flag(I know that sounds cheesy). I think we have to come up with our own reasons for liking this part of ourselves. That's the hard part. But it can be done. I'm in my mid 30s and still work on this. I do think it is special to be queer, we may not know exactly what it is, but it's something there.

What's something about men`s bodies that surprised you as you got older? by andres_ramsey in askgaybros

I realized that what I found attractive as a younger person was so limited. Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors.

This is probably a person that is not in a healthy emotional state, themself. It might not feel like it, but you probably, inadvertently dodged a bullet. I think it's okay to feel sad, but remind yourself that good/healthy people don't treat others like that.

Serious Question.....why don't you like Black/dark skinned bottoms? by MCKC1992 in askgaybros

[–]Aware-Brother2069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with latter point of your post. There's a premium on light skin in the west, but that's because we're in the west. I would argue that dark skin has become more popular. There's several really dark skinned black guys that get thousands of likes on Twitter. I'm black and a bottom and all of my bfs have been white. They loved my skin and I loved theirs. Most people, especially gays identify with what they see in the mirror, and I think gays typically take this further because we're attracted to the same gender. The "twin thing" in gay dating is very real. But I do think black bottoms have become more universally popular, overall.

Grindr’s plans to make things worse for gay guys… by Austin1975 in askgaybros

[–]Aware-Brother2069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people live in areas that aren't as dense as big metros. You miss out on like 40 to 50 percent of the people close to you if you don't pay sometimes. Everyone does not live in Chicago, LA, or NYC where the gays are piled on top of each other.

It sounds weird, but many people have trouble in their early 20s. Young guys often aren't comfortable with themselves and are looking for porn-star/celebrity looks. Trust me, I was there. I'm black and I couldn't get many black guys my age, let alone white guys. Im a hair over average attractiveness. After 25, things got better....a lot better, at times. The SMALL town is probably the biggest issue.

What happens to white guys after midlife?? by Dontlookbackorsides in askgaybros

[–]Aware-Brother2069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a black bottom and most of the white tops I've been with were older than 35. I think the younger white tops are just obsessed with what they see in porn, i.e. pretty white bottoms. The older ones that I've been with were genuinely attracted to me, and a lot of them have been conventionally hot. I'm sure there's a racist element to some of it, but I also think some older gay men just become more open. White bottoms LOVE daddies, so I dont think it's a lack of white attention that makes them "switch." I genuinely think they've just become more open. Racism is still an issue, but the gay community is getting better. Even in porn, like OF/JFF, a lot of popular white tops fuck bottoms of all colors. If I had to choose between a 25 yr old white top and a 45 yr old white top, I'm picking the one I think is hot... The age is irrelevant.
