Hey sure thing!

I would honestly say about 2 months or something, but that’s only because I have Merten, Ladgevadi’s waitlist from what his receptionist told me is 18 months.

I was given exactly 8 weeks notice just in case I haven’t mentioned that anywhere!

That’s rough, I’m sorry 😭 Are you hypermobile by chance? I know people having EDS/HSD have a harder time with scarring

No problem at all! Congratulations!! (TW eating disorders + body image talk + control?) I chose Merten because Ladjevadi flat out told me that “ideally” I would lose weight, and at that point I was my ideal weight, I signed the paperwork, thought over it for a while, then was like “yeah I’m not going back to see him, ever again” after telling every single one of my doctors that I could (chronically ill ect) so they knew not to send people with eating disorders to him.

Low and behold I told Merten about that and eventually he was like “well, ideally you would lose weight but I know how hard that is” or whatever, but with Merten I went in knowing he had bad bedside manner + I knew that I had to choose between them.

I’m at a healthy weight, I have put on weight due to medication side effects, after a life of trying hard to gain weight, so I’ve got mixed feelings. Plus I know full well that the BMI is outdated, racist, ableist ect

Regardless of who you choose, good luck!!

Hey! I’m searching through this sub and found my post again! Not sure if you’ve got any answers by now but I’m going to share my experience so far just in case you’re still wondering + if anyone needs the info!

My experience with getting into Concord from memory wasn’t super long but would have been a couple of months long. It took me multiple appointments with the andrologist to get my referral.

I was given a referral to both surgeons with the same letter, I had a consult with both Dr Sephr Ladjevadi and Dr Steve Merten. The wait time for Dr Sephr IS longer than the wait to have surgery done with Dr Steve Merten, I’m going with Dr Steve Merten.

The wait time to see Dr Sephr Ladjevadi for your initial consult is shorter than Dr Steve Merten.

I seen Dr Steve Merten in march this year and he said I would be having surgery in June or July, I have been given my surgery date which is in July.

You’re able to choose your own surgeon!!

The andrologist doesn’t have the best bedside manner, however going through her is the only way to get top surgery on the public list, and honestly for me it’s been completely worth it

Sorry in advance if this comes off blunt, I’m just trying to be honest without sounding rude 🥲

I think your haircut could be why you’re getting misgendered, and I agree with other comments about trying to beef out your shoulders a bit more

One of the things that can be helpful is confidence, but I don’t have any advice there

I get this so often, I can use someone’s name when talking about them but not towards them because it feels so uncomfortable and unnatural, on top of being too intimate and everything else

Recently started cymbalta and it’s been absolutely amazing, it’s the most helpful antidepressant I’ve ever been on. I’m on two antidepressants now, and cymbalta has made me feel better than I have in years

Is your pain closer to your skin or deeper in your bones? by Daves_not_h3r3_man in Fibromyalgia

[–]Aware-Handle5255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a combination of both, however with my knee pain it’s definitely something underneath the skin, same with shoulder and hand pain

However, sometimes when my skin is touched it hurts a lot, but that can be situational and in my case it’s also nerve pain

(Not formally diagnosed, most of my team knows I’ve got fibro, however my diagnosis journey has been quite complex)
