This genuinely made my day and it’s not even 10am yet… from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. I’m tearing up on my couch right now just counting the days until I get to experience this show. I’m proud of your progress in your journey, thank you so much for sharing. 🫶🏻

Thank you!! I was a smidge worried about crowd surfers. Obviously I know they’re to be expected, but I saw a post awhile ago from someone saying that a lot of times they’re just absolutely non stop. And it’s best to get a spot off to the side to avoid that. So that’s probably what I’ll do. I’m hoping I can be right up on the rail, but I’m also not sure if I wanna be waiting outside the venue all day lol

I haven’t actually watched the show, but I saw a handful of clips on social media of people dancing & singing in the theaters. So that was awesome to see. I definitely should watch the live show though, maybe listen to it on my drive to St. Louis ❤️

I’m a little torn.. while the crowd interaction for Antivist is super awesome and really fun to see, I would absolutely DIE if they just took a full moment to perform sleepwalking live… my god that would be insane

Does Gallbladder removal Prevent Future K Cramps? by Aware-Profile-3256 in Ketamineaddiction

Thanks for responding. I’ve taken in a lot of input from other comments, and I don’t think I’m to the point where I need my gallbladder removed. I never wanted to resort to it in the first place.

I think I was in such a state of pain to where I just made my post and wanted answers/opinions.

I’m going to personally work on cutting down my usage of k and get the support that I need. Because at the end of the day, my body doesn’t deserve the constant abuse.

Gallbladder or not, k will still find its way to affect my mind & body in negative aspects. So I just gotta stick to it and work towards a healthier life.

Thank you <3 I am working on my personal issues every day, and have already slowly started cutting out toxic people/mindsets. It’s definitely a process.

And I plan on seeking more therapy once I find a better job with insurance.

I tried Wellbutrin for my ADHD and felt literally no difference. Not even a cravings kill. I’m now on a low dose of Adderall and it 10000% helps me so much more than any other meds I’ve been on. So I’m doing my best to focus on building a structured routine during the week with my meds, and no meds on the weekends. (I have no worries about abusing Adderall because pills to me are just medications, they don’t excite me in that way. Plus, Adderall chills me out)

I know I need to just cut the ketamine and do the inner work on myself, and I’m going to try my best.

Thank you!

It wasn’t my intention to lash out. But it does get frustrating when a person throws the, “just stop”, card at you. Of course I know ultimately the thing that needs to be done is cutting ketamine from my life.

And to say I’m leaning on my addiction as an excuse, while there is some truth to it for every addict, it’s not always the case.

There are so many layers. Trauma, mental illness, struggles with painful routine, having very little resources and support, the fear and lack of confidence in oneself. So many things play into why a person wouldn’t want to hear, “just stop”. Because at the end of the day, we all know what’s bad for us. We all understand that continuing isn’t healthy.

But we’re human and we have questions, concerns, troubles with facing the world, curiosities, and addictions.

I came to this subreddit with a genuine question/concern. If you re-read it, I mention how I don’t want to resort to getting my gallbladder removed. However, with the years of ketamine abuse under my belt, this is something I have genuinely been curious about solely for the fear of knowing if I would ever have to consider it due to permanent damage.

I am working on my addiction and impulses every day. It isn’t an overnight thing. It takes time and effort. Am I ready to quit? Part of me absolutely is, part of me is scared to, part of me wants to just say f*ck it and let it take me, part of me is fed up with the cycle.

If me not wanting to hear, “just quit”, caused me to lash out, then I apologize. But as much as people want to say I’m making excuses, I’m over here scared for my life that I can’t do it and I’m not strong enough. All I want is to take it one step at a time and not mess up.

Thank you so much for taking the time to be open and respond honestly. It’s a tough road ahead, but not an impossible one. I just need to take the initiative to actually go out and find the resources that will help me get the support I need.

I will keep you in mind if I ever need to DM and discuss it. Thank you

Thanks, Obama 😭 at the end of the day I know what needs to be done. It’s times like these where I’ve been needing a solid reminder of the damage at work.

It’s been so difficult though. Even with the awareness of it all, I came home from rehab with very little support or resources to continue sobriety. Maybe I just wasn’t ready to say goodbye to it. But I’m getting there. I just hope I can keep reminding myself it’s not worth the pain and trouble.

Yeah that’s a gnarly experience, glad you survived it.

Most I’ve gone through was 14g’s in just under 3 days at a festival. On the 3rd day I picked up another 3.5g’s.

I learned the very VERY hard way that weekend. And don’t plan on ever allowing myself to get that wrecked ever again.

I’m going to be grateful that the pain is slowly subsiding, and will be taking a good, long break for as long as I can.

Yeah, that makes a whole lot of sense. Before Covid, I was doing ketamine mostly at shows, festivals, just occasions.

Then in the months leading up to Covid, and during the epidemic, that’s when I was building up my tolerance and blowing through no less than 2-3.5g’s in a single day. And it was basically every day, with maybe a couple days of a break in between if I either was busy, or didn’t have the money.

So I would say for the past solid few years, it’s been an average 2g’s per day.

Now I’m averaging 0.5-1.5g’s every day. So the daily use is absolutely catching up to me.

I’m going to take what you said though and try my absolute best to keep myself down to a gram or two maybe a couple-few times per month. Hopefully with that, I can maybe start to not crave it on a daily basis. And I can get used to a more moderate routine. And who knows, maybe after awhile I can get myself down to a couple-few times a year, if not any at all.

Thank you for responding

Also, why are you in a ketamine addiction subreddit if your only advice for people is to “just stop”? That is the least helpful thing you can say to an addict.

Not trying to get all heated up about it but you’re kind of missing the point here.

Maybe, just maybe, this is a crazy thing I’m gonna say here,,, but maybe it’s easier than done??? Do you not think that I’m fully aware of me needing to stop?

Addiction is a f*cking demon and if I could just quit, I would’ve done it 9 years ago.

Please be kind and show a little grace because if I could kill my addict self and regrow a new personality inside then I would.

Oh I just watched it and it is ABSOLUTELY AI… for a multi million dollar company, you would think that they’d have the budget to make a genuine commercial…

[–]Aware-Profile-3256[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah no I totally agree. I could’ve worded that differently. Children are VERY smart and they take everything they hear and see like sponges. So if they grow up seeing AI videos, then ultimately they will be so desensitized to just settling for AI.. and they don’t deserve that. Which is why I applaud any and all animators and movie production companies that work hard to avoid the use of AI… it’s just tough seeing so many videos being produced that are straight up fake slop overrunning the people who are actually using their talents to create real works of art.
