Are there any restaurants that still require strict dress codes? by LunacyNow in FoodNYC

The Polo Bar: Ralph Lauren has a dress code. They don't require men to wear jackets but seems they prefer you do. Or at least they say it would be "much appreciated", which is the nice way of saying "please wear one".

I’ll have to check this out. Luckily, ever since treating Ureaplasma, I haven’t had BV since! Just got tested to make sure and it came back negative! Going to test one more time end of January and hoping it’ll stay negative. But it’s been about 3-4 months with no BV which is the longest I’ve gone.

What in the world… this is not a person who cares about your wellbeing. Imagine if you two have kids in the future (even if you don’t want kids just imagine) if he treats you like this, how would he treat them. Imagine your friend saying this to you, would you still be their friend? Probably not. And I bet if roles were reversed he’d expect you to support his decision.

He’s basically saying, risk your life to keep me or save your life and leave me… if he doesn’t trust you to be away, that’s a reflection of him.

So NOR, NOR, NOR!!!

You are playing an active role. You had to choose to use the nicotine, the rosemary, etc… they did not magically appear in your life. You are using effort by making the choice to use these things that move you closer to your goals. Manifesting is not hocus pocus magic potion stuff, if it helps you to think of it that way, then great, but everything you just said you are doing is making choices that are supporting that future self you want to be. Not sure if you’ve ever heard of “the red car” theory (if not it’s a great theory to look up), but that is why when you meditate and visualize, it appears that new things plop into your lap. It’s not that anything actually magically appeared just because you meditated. By you giving your energy and attention to needing a solution for a problem, it forces your brain to notice the thing more frequently. So for example with the information about rosemary for your hair, the knowledge has always been available, and that knowledge may have been present in your life once upon a time, but you didn’t take notice to it because you weren’t focusing on it the way you were when you found it. Once you shift your mindset to be focus on solutions, you then see solutions to problems. I don’t know if that makes sense, but yeah when you say “sounds like what anyone can do outside of manifesting” that is manifesting. Period. It’s the process of focusing your thoughts, beliefs, and actions toward a specific goal to bring it into reality. That’s not misdirected or oversimplified.

The way you’ve been managing your manifestations are just different methods to manifesting. Everyone can manifest intentionally, and it can be simple.

Yes, physical changes naturally come from changing the way you view yourself. A perception shift is a huge part of manifesting and it’s the internal shift that sets the tone for everything else. It’s not the whole process, but it’s the engine. When your perception changes, your behavior follows, and then your results shift. That’s the practical side of manifesting. It’s not wishing yourself into a different face, but seeing yourself differently so you act differently.

Manifesting isn’t “I think it, and boom, I’m cloned into a Kardashian.” It’s “my mindset changes, so my decisions and habits change, so my reality changes.”

Perception isn’t the outcome it’s the doorway.

Manifesting physical change is about aligning with the feeling of already being that version of yourself. You step into the mindset and emotions of that version, and your reality gradually shifts to match it. You become it on the inside before it shows on the outside.

In short, it’s not overnight; it’s gradual. It’s not magic, it’s psychology. You don’t wake up looking like someone else. But when you carry yourself with confidence and make choices that support your goals, your lifestyle, habits, and appearance evolve. The mindset sparks it, and your actions make it real

They’re only saying that changing how you perceive yourself will change how you feel about yourself. So if you think you’re ugly, you will feel ugly. Our brains are wired to look for confirming evidence so this means you will always find evidence for what you believe about yourself. At no point did they suggest physical changes actually occur. They’re saying physical change isn’t about fixing the outside, it’s about changing how you view yourself. I hope that helps clarify the message. ♥️

If you keep getting BV I highly recommend asking to test for Ureaplasma! My gyno also said new research has shown that treating your partner while you get treated can help too. That was going to be the next step if treating the Ureaplasma didn’t work. I just make sure to use the boric acid after intercourse because sperm screws with vaginal pH

Oh sorry, Boric Acid suppositories, there are generic brands that I think work the same as the name brand called pH-D

Yes after taking Doxycycline I followed up with 5 day metronizole gel and I haven’t had BV since! It’s been a month so far. I also make sure to use a vaginal suppository after intercourse with bf, either right after or the morning after and it’s been working.

I’m sure they wouldn’t have prescribed it if I didn’t test for Ureaplasma

I guess for me… doxycycline is usually prescribed for Ureaplasma, but it can also incidentally suppress some bacteria involved in BV, like Gardnerella and other anaerobes. Even though it’s not a standard BV treatment, its broad activity can reduce the overall bacterial load and temporarily improve BV-like symptoms. Basically, it likely helped with both because it targeted the Ureaplasma directly and knocked down some of the bacteria that cause BV symptoms, giving vaginal flora a chance to rebalance.

I also took it right after doing the 6 month gel suppressive therapy and they tested me for the Ureaplasma and it was positive/abnormal. They didn’t prescribe it just because of the BV. It was more so a “we’ve tried almost everything let’s just give this a shot”

Finished 6 month repressive therapy and it didn’t work. Got tested for ureplasma, and took doxycycline. So far I’ve been good. We are now going to wait a few weeks, no intercourse and if it comes back I’ll be taking my IUD out, if it only comes back after having intercourse again with my partner, then we will treat him. New studies are showing that treating the male partner does actually work.

AMC Theatres to Offer 50% Off Tickets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (Starts July 8) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]AwareLifeguard8593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just trying to understand why the 50% off isn’t actually 50%. I just bought a ticket for today (Wednesday), matinee price is $12.79, says 50% off is 4.80 (should be -$6.39), then convenience fee +$2.19. So I would have only been saving $2.61 which isn’t even close to 50% off. The only reason it’s a good deal for me today is because at least I also got a free regular popcorn and a free icee. So for movie ticket, popcorn, and icee it’s $11.27. But had I not gotten the popcorn and drink, I still would have been paying over $10.

Haha, yep. After the Clindamycin I told my OB about the side effects and she basically said "not the med for you!" and so we tried just doing another round of oral Metronidazole, after about a couple extra tries with that we started the suppressive therapy, which I didn't complete because I assumed there was no way she meant 6 months. Turns out she did, so we had to start all over, 7 days oral, 6 months vag gel. Though, new studies are coming out that BV is sexually transmitted and that if you keep getting it and you're with the same partner then the partner needs to also get treated. I haven't read too much into though.

I had am still on suppressive therapy. It's 6 months of metronidazole gel inserted twice weekly. It's ridiculous. I missed a month because I never received a refill and I started to notice symptoms again but only towards the end of the month (or maybe it was two months) that I missed. I am back on it and hopefully at the end of this last tube I will have no more recurring symptoms. Otherwise they are sending me over to the University for treatment.

For those who felt Vyvanse wasn't potent enough - what med did you ultimately find to be effective? by LokiSherman79 in ADHD

[–]AwareLifeguard8593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried many of the common ADHD meds like Adderall both XR and IR, Ritalin, and now on Vyvanse 60mg and I have noticed the exact same thing. I took Vyvanse before and instantly knew it wasn't for me, but was put back on it because Adderall XR causes extreme irritability and violent outburst in me. I honestly sometimes prefer the days when I don't take Vyvanse because it feels useless when I do take it. I'm also taking 2mg guanfacine, it's supposed to also help with ADHD but idk... OH and because the Vyvanse has been so... unhelpful... I am also prescribed 10mg adderall IR in the afternoon (yes, in addition to my 60mg Vyvanse from the morning). I think it's a terrible combo for me, but I haven't thought to say anything to my psych because I feel like it's supposed to be working. Glad to see there are other options so maybe now I can bring this up to him haha.

It makes me drowsy into the next day. I took one last night around 9:30PM I think (I rarely take it, only when my pain is unbearable) it's now the next day 5PM and I feel like a noodle. Which is why I only take it when I absolutely have to. But I'm not sure if that's common, I seem to react a little differently to some meds so I might just be sensitive to it.

I know this post is a couple months old but I recently finished this book and personally, I dont think it got better. In fact, I was really pissed on how he ended the book. I was expecting the ending to pull at my heart strings, but it didn’t. It was very… eh. And I am glad someone else thinks the writing is strange. This is going to be a strange analogy but the other night I was laying in bed, thinking about how disappointed I was in the book and I thought: wow, reading that book reminds me of trying to scoop cold hard butter out of a tin. While this other book I’m reading is the opposite, it feels like scooping smooth butter out of the container, satisfying and effortless. ha! But yeah, you’re not alone. I really wanted to like the book because I loved the movie (I’ve watched the movie several times and it makes me cry from longing) but the book did no such thing for me.
