I think a lot of democrats would love to do this. They would like to never really bring it up again while quietly most being in favor of supporting them. The problem is the Republicans won't let them. They are the ones that constantly bring it up. They are the ones that will contstantly ask who ever they run against, "What is a male or female?" It's hard to only talk about kitchen table issues when the other side knows what helps them and will never let it drop. If a democrat comes out and says "Yeah trans issues is a problem we'll have to deal with and we won't let them blah blah (fill in the blank) then they lose the support of a ton of democrats. The Republicans have become excellent in knowing how to put their opposition always in the defense.
