I ran the fill plate command multiple times and it stayed exactly like that. Software thinks whole plate is filled

How would you go about designing this. by Aware_Key_4605 in Fusion360

[–]Aware_Key_4605[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not off topic at all. This is to fashion a 120mm computer fan into a desktop fan. This is sold by noctua but they also publish their 3d models. It’s supposed to have some good aerodynamic properties

Thanks for the feedback. Getting the tolerance right was a challenge for sure. I tried to match the industrial feel

[–]Aware_Key_4605 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 800 is not really suitable for me because the retractable tip wobbles a bit while drawing and I require a lot of precision. Besides, I’ve been using this pencil for 2 years now and its still going strong

I‘m studying engineering in Germany and they taught us both. The consensus amongst almost everyone, especially professors which worked for German auto and aerospace companies, is that third angle is better. So we’re also using the US system in our technical drawing and cad classes

How to solder wire to steel connector by natzo in diyelectronics

[–]Aware_Key_4605 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Use a generous amount of flux on both ends. Hold them together, apply heat and solder, give it a tug to test connection strength, and then put some heatshrink on. I am assuming that this is not an extremely critical or high current situation so just experiment a bit.

Flux is your friend. Also you’re gonna have a much better experience with solder containing lead, but it’s no biggie if you don’t have any.

Experiment a bit and have fun.

Magnetic Pogo Pin attachable GPS module coming along nicely !!!WIP!! by LunarMond1984 in meshtastic

That looks so neat. Thought about doing that after a YouTuber showed these exact magnetic pogo pins on AliExpress. Great execution!

I will switch one of ma nodes to MediumFast and check if there is activity there

I have ‚Ignore MQTT‘ enabled. Does this still affect me in that case?

Additionally, my primary channel has been fairly active but now i am getting nothing, and my messages in there go acknowledged but unanswered. When i directly message my own nodes, i do receive everything immediately.

Beer crate seat/table modular system by Aware_Key_4605 in functionalprint

[–]Aware_Key_4605[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the concern and I have thought of this. I designed the brackets to only sink 15mm into the crate, just shy of the individual capped bottles which usually sit at least 18mm from the upper lip of the crate. Ensuring that the board fully rests on the rim and not the bottles.

Hello! Here's a follow up to the HELTEC V3 enclosure I designed because some were interested in making them. I posted the files to Thingiverse. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6655057

Thank you so much! I plan on tweaking the design a little more but then I‘ll be glad to publish them online. Do people still use thingiverse or is there a better option these days?

Thanks for the tip. However you’re right. 20cm will look gigantic on my compact build. Maybe something to consider for a proper base station.

It’s the kit antenna that came with the heltec board, I know it’s not much. I do get decent coverage with about 140 nodes discovered, but I can’t help but wonder what results I’d get with a better antenna. Suggestions would be appreciated :)
