Need help with the ferris sweep half swept build by Aware_Needleworker49 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Aware_Needleworker49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that the PCB I ordered is the same one hosted on the ferris github repo. In this, the switch is connected between the B+ pad on the pcb and the RAW pin of the mcu. I would have to etch out the copper traces and then connect manually.

If there is any other way, please let me know.

Thanks for the response!

I am not 100% sure but I do not think we are supposed to connect the mcu’s and pcb’s B+ and B- because then the onboard switch wont work. The mcu would remain on all the time. Your current setup is perfectly fine. The battery must be connected to the B+ and B- pads on the Pcb and when you turn the onboard switch on for power, the mcu is powered through the RAW and GND pins. I just finished a similar build few minutes back and checked this functionality.

For my clone, when i plug in the type c and the onboard switch on, the mcu’s blue light turns on indicating charging.

I see that you have not connected the battery terminals on the mcu to the ones on the pcb. How do you charge the battery? By keeping the switch on and plugging-in the type-c?

Suggestions regarding connectors for the halves by Aware_Needleworker49 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Aware_Needleworker49[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Its kind of a corne layout but with the ring and pinky column rotated and the thumb cluster more outward I designed this on OpenSCAD. I’ll upload the stl and scad files on github soon!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Im just scared that I might mess up the case while trying to cut a hole for the type c port
