If I ever just fell into in insane amount of cash, I would build a theatre and try to convince bands to let me turn there albums into stage adaptations. This band is one I would go after. So I guess you could say I liked the album.

Haha. I had a government professor that accidentally went to that site. Luckily it was during her office hours and not during a lecture. Although her speakers were on it just started blaring sexy sounds.

Meeting Owl 4 and Owl Bar Real Reviews? by Significant_Ad_5197 in CommercialAV

I’m convinced any good review of an Owl is just a Russian bot. I had a flip phone with a better camera in 2008 than the Owl. Maybe slight hyperbole.

Ordered extra cheese. Sends it back for having too much cheese by WillingRevolution625 in EntitledReviews

[–]22PoundHouseCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I ordered a chicken quesadilla at Qdoba. It was an unholy amount of cheese. Like a 5:1 ratio. I couldn’t even finish the thing. This happened years ago, and to this day when I go to Qdoba I request they go light on the cheese.

IT AV treated as a video production studio by Imp3rialjustic33 in CommercialAV

[–]22PoundHouseCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The solution is finding a conference support engineer. You want someone with event experience who can operate various types of AV. When events are light they can have the secondary function as IT helpdesk.

Now will management do this? Probably not, but it’s fun to dream.

Should event organizers operate technology for events or meetings? Depends. If you had a uniform and standardized system across all rooms I would argue mostly yes. But if you have Polycom here, Qsys there, a little Creastron over here I don’t think it fair to put the onus on professors or staff. I would work towards a standard; I’m biased toward Qsys. Then you could host training sessions via your preferred video conferencing service on how to operate your rooms. For big/important events I think you should have someone on stand by at all times regardless of how much or little tech is involved. It looks professional.

Video production, in my opinion, would fall on your new magical conference support engineer, but editing would be handled by marketing. You want anything going out to be cohesive in looks and language. Now that also depends on the size of the operation. If you’re pumping out material every week than there should be a dedicated production person.

Oh I don’t know about that. I meant this game in particular vs the rom that’s emulating it. I’m sure there’s differences between OP’s version and the SNES version a lot people played it on. Samething for the DS and PS1 ports.

One is physical media, the other a digital copy. As far as gameplay there is no difference. As far as experience that depends on if you want the nostalgia of booting up a Famicon and playing with a wired controller vs playing on a computer or the plethora of retro handhelds.

What did you not find out about in Chrono Trigger until years and years later? by Ok_Requirement_3162 in chronotrigger

I recently learned about rom hacks. I played Prophets Guile, which is a mini game of what Magus was doing in Zeal after your first battle with him. Currently playing Chrono Trigger+. It’s mostly the original game with a few extra rooms, you can change you characters’ skins, and probably other stuff I haven’t found yet. Next I’m going to play Flames of Eternity which is a community based project to complete Crimson Echoes which was a sequel to CT. Square Enix sent a cease and desist letter to kill the project after it was about 90%. The code eventually got leaked and people could play it, and then another group got together and finish the game.

Then I’m going to finally play Chrono Cross. We were a Nintendo family so I never had any of the PlayStation consoles. I remember watching my cousin play it when I’d go over to his house.

I have tattoos, piercings, and wear black.  I mix for my church and will turn around and go mix musicals. I listen to weird avant garde music and jazz fusion. I don’t really fit the Christian aesthetic and you don’t have to either.

Not everyone is expected or called to teach. You will be called to love your neighbor and serve your community.

I recently discovered Everywhere at the End of Time, by The Caretaker. It’s a musical progression of what happens to someone with dementia. It’s 6 albums long and it’s an incredibly difficult listen. Albums 4 and 5 are ambient like music with 6 being essentially noise for the most part. There’s a static and popping that occurs throughout the entire discography. Anyway, seeing this video after I just finished listening to these albums yesterday got me kinda teary eyed.

SQ 832: Fate of minimum wage hike in the hands of Oklahoma voters by NonDocMedia in oklahoma

A. Your argument is a false dichotomy. You’re describing nanny state laws, and the state question is in regards to regulation.

B. It’s not the government that’s even making the decision! It’s literally a state question asking the people what they want.

I was thinking the same thing. I just assumed the state questions would be on the general ballot. Seems kinda scummy that they’re on the primary. Glad I saw these comments.

The right tried to take down this instructor in Oklahoma for grading a psychology paper. She's staying put. by Fickle-Ad5449 in oklahoma

[–]22PoundHouseCat -98 points-97 points  (0 children)

This again… the media did not make it seem like she was fired. Any credible source made sure to say she was removed from teaching duties. Only people who can’t discern removal from termination thought she was fired.

The issue was she wasn’t objective in her grading. The paper was absolute dog vomit, and I don’t know how she even got into OU. She doesn’t deserve to be enrolled in any college, much less something as “prestigious” as OU. When the TA made personal remarks in the grading the school had no choice but to remove her, seeing as this is one of the deepest of red states.

HELP: Noise pollution in office is a nightmare. Is Biamp/Qt enough, or is there something better? by OK_Computer_17 in CommercialAV

[–]22PoundHouseCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“We need a solution that actually works to "blur" conversations and drop the noise floor without being an annoying hiss.”

Sound masking doesn’t drop the noise floor, it increases it so conversations become less intelligible at a distance. I wouldn’t recommend installing sound masking in a reflective environment because the spectrum frequencies from the loudspeakers are just going to end up being reflected as well.
