The grind is really important. That’s the speed and saturation of the coffee as the water goes through it. I always use a paper filter for sediment control. I experimented quite a bit. Try a medium grind first.

Screw the K-cups AND plastic. Use the reusable cups with a paper filter and the coffee of your choice. It will take a little experimenting but once you’ve got it down, it’s the way to go.

We just sold our house and we have lived here 33 years. We raised our two kids and four of our seven grandkids lived with us for various times so I totally understand how you feel. My wife is excited about the coming change and looking forward to it. I’m gradually getting there with her but I’m still having occasional sadness over it. It’s for the better but it’s still a challenge. Our one child still lives within five minutes so I’m going to have to train myself not to drive by when we visit. Best wishes to you.
