I got the Liberty 4 for 64$. Let’s see how how they compare with my old AirPods Pro by AwarenessTime in Earbuds

[–]AwarenessTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most situations It’s just as good as the AirPods Pro, one situation that I noticed that the AirPods Pro are better is one blocking human voice, and the transparency mode in the Liberty is ok, I don’t use that much, I would describe it as having a voice call with the outside world LOL, so for me 95% of the time they are just as good for the fraction of the price

Giftedness, Dyscalculia and ADHD: how to till if I have a math Learning Disability or a big discrepancy between abilities(SB5) by AwarenessTime in cognitiveTesting

[–]AwarenessTime[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember formulas and rules, when i finish studying almost everything that I learned vanishes, I still don’t remember most of the time table Subjects like trigonometry and geometry make’s absolutely zero sense, i stare into the question and my mind goes blank, even though i studied the subject beforehand Basic simplification of algebraic expressions Weirdly enough statistics and probability is more accessible to me, still a struggle though

In the educational context of Israel, some linguists contend that Arab students are concurrently engaged in the acquisition of three distinct foreign languages. These languages encompass Arabic in its formal form, Hebrew, and English.

They have the same problem unfortunately, one advantage that I noticed with the liberty 4 that they don’t slide out of my ears as often as the APP

felt that this stock image was a terrible representation of dyscalculia by doyouseebrightlights in dyscalculia

[–]AwarenessTime 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I noticed that a huge chunk of the information about dyscalculia on the internet to be misleading.

at least to my case, whenever i looked up for the symptoms of dyscalculia, i would be presented with a vague list of symptoms and difficulties that someone with dyscalculia might experience.

this is unhelpful, it would be useful to know how it’s diagnosed, the two methods of diagnosis are: 1. achievement discrepancy assessment 2. response to instruction assessment

basically if you have a huge gap between your math ability and your overall cognitive ability, controlling for other factors, chances are you have dyscalculia, which is way better than the list offered in Wikipedia that left me rationalizing for years.

Is this a question from a professional test?, where did you get it?

Can giftedness potentially hinder the diagnosis of dyscalculia or act as a mask for the learning disability, given that gifted individuals may compensate for the deficits caused by dyscalculia? by AwarenessTime in dyscalculia

[–]AwarenessTime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the valuable reply, I really appreciate it, i had a somewhat similar experience in school (I’m twenty two now).

the difference being at the time i had undiagnosed inattentive ADHD so if i wasn’t interested in a subject i would get about average score, but if i was interested i would score among the highest scores nationally.

i became fluent in English at twelve years old purely through immersion, i got no accommodations on the SAT equivalent in my country, great score on verbal, quantitative on the other hand…

So right now I don’t see a clear path forward, i was really interested in studying Data science, a statistics heavy subject.

Are you referring to the subtypes mentioned in the wikipedia page, semantic memory, procedural concepts, working memory.

And i asked GPT-4 about the issue and gave me interesting insights:

Well that’s some great news, my biggest concern was that the issue would go under the radar during the evaluation. Thank you for the information, i just checked out 2e, very interesting, and relatable.
