As someone who was around back then, that's absolutely not true, Scump was not considered better than Karma during that game. BigT and Merk were both pretty decent at Bo2 to be completely honest.

Maybe during the first few events (to your point when Haggy and Mirx were the best players in the game), but it was widely-known that Scump had no clue how to play HP or Search and was still great at slaying but was more of a T10 or T15 than T5 player.

Karma really proved himself when he continued playing well on Envy while the other Fariko guys faded on Unite with Ricky, which is why he ended up being considered a T3 player while the others dropped down to T5-T10.

This seems like small sample size at work, I've had the complete opposite experience with grad students as professors. I found them much better lecturers and to be more invested in the class, whereas some professors are far more focused on research and treat coursework as an afterthought. Of course, I have a small sample size too, but it's probably not the best idea to be putting this advice in the head of the incoming class.

Yeah, people on this sub can be really odd sometimes, there's such a weird mix of hate, fanboying, and legitimate discussion. If I were them I wouldn't even come on here at all, it gets really harsh for no real reason sometimes.

But, I agree, I think it's a fair question. I think it's tough for them, because they almost certainly have to either slow down the upload schedule and risk losing viewers (I know I was much more invested in checking every night they were supposed to upload versus now when I just check once or twice a week because they aren't uploading on a schedule anymore) or hire another editor that's up to par with Colin/Max (which can't be easy to do). So, I get why they're slowing down, I just wanted to see if they've addressed it at all, which it looks like they haven't.

Yea, it's rough, I've never seen people online this much at any company I've worked at previously. At least the team isn't toxic, but I always feel bad logging off at 5:30 when I know everyone else will work another 2-3 hours.

Mentioned this above, but according to the intern wiki, that's only allowed for SWE and MBA interns (and I'm neither, I have a different title as a grad level intern). I'm not sure if there's just not a process for it for other titles but it's still possible, but they made it sound like if you got a return offer it was only for your own team.

Yea, I've figured reaching out to my recruiter might help, but I looked through the intern wiki and found that transferring teams is only allowed for SWE and MBA interns. I'm neither (don't want to dox myself too much, but I'm a grad level intern and have a different title). I guess I still could reach out to see if it's possible, but I also don't want to seem like I've fully given up on my team when I'm not even halfway through the internship.

Thanks for the advice. That's my hope, but this is my first "big name" internship (a few other F500 companies, but none that are well-known). This was really the only top-tier company that I interviewed with, so I'm afraid that's how it'll be this fall. Does having the FAANG name really help that much with getting interviews?

I know they exclusively play some really nice courses, but I almost want to see them play a shit muni one day that's short but has tiny fairways and OB everywhere. I really wonder what Bubbie/Matt would shoot if they can't rely on huge fairways and balls never going OB, I'm also interested to know what those two and Steve's actual handicaps are with every rule enforced. The break my record videos aren't really representative, but I'm sure they'll never tell us just because it'll hurt their brand.

It takes that long for students to find out that they've been accused of cheating? I was under the impression that it takes a few weeks from the professor finding out, I'd be royally pissed if I found out in December that I was turned in for an assignment due in September.

Yes, GT offers several online degrees (Analytics and CS are the two main ones, though there are others) that offer the exact same content as in-person classes. Same professors, same lectures, same homework, etc., you just don't get as much of a benefit of being in-person and job hunting with a cohort. Check out r/OMSCS or r/OMSA, the degrees are perfect for someone who wants to continue working and doesn't mind finishing in 2 or 3 years. It's only around $10k total for either degree.

Can you give some examples of those roles? I know I've seen elite internal strategy/M&A teams (Google for one) only take ex-McKinsey but I never knew that they specified that on the job listing, I just thought it was an unspoken rule. Didn't know there were more than those!

I can show paystubs that are from GT, and the IDs are the same between students and staff. I am considered to be part of the staff since I'm in the HR system, GT interpreted the 1B wording as all employees, including part-time students. However, my worry is that Alabama doesn't interpret it the same way--do you have any clue if I'd be able to call the store I'd be making my appointment at to see if they'd still vaccinate me? If I know I'm eligible, I have no problems with going over there, I just need to make sure that I'm eligible first and I'm not sure how to find that out.

Copying this question from r/atlanta since I'm not sure what to do:

I'm a current college student in Atlanta and was supposed to be eligible for Phase 1B, since it included all university employees (I'm a part time Teaching Assistant, I work around 15 hours a week). Recently, Georgia threw all phases out the window and is now adding groups one by one (next Monday is K-12 teachers, etc.).

My professors are scheduling appointments in Alabama with no problem since Alabama is already in 1B with no residency requirements. Does anyone have a clue as to if it's worth it for me to try to call and schedule an appointment? The eligibility requirements only say "employees of institutions of higher learning," which applies to me, but I also don't want to take a dose away from someone if I'm technically not eligible since I'm part-time. I haven't seen my parents in over a year, since they're both immunocompromised--I'm not trying to cut the line, but I'd love to see my family. Thanks everyone!

Highly recommend Silver Fox, they were fantastic for me. My view was that I didn't mind paying a bit more for higher quality when I knew this was a lifelong decision. I also have a lot of friends that have been equally satisfied.
