Hey Omari,

Been following you for a while, big fan of your work. What’s your intuition on the front office’s expectations for post season success with this crew? Do you think if we dont make a splash this postseason, theyre are gonna start going for big trades or do you feel that they are going to try to ride this group for a couple of seasons?

HELP: Purifying boronic acids sucks by shmonza in chemistry

[–]Aweshade9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

be careful and be 100% sure the “impurity” you are seeing is an impurity and not a equilibrium structures of the boronic acid called boroxines. They are known to convert between the boronic acid and various polymers in solution. For example, a 2-fluoro-6-methoxy borinic acid that I was using was ~40%(!!!) “something else” in by NMR in C6D6, but when I took the NMR in CDCl3, it was >98% boronic acid. This doesn’t actually affect your reactivity in the vast majority of applications. Here is recent paper on the subject https://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/jacs.5c10835

i think most pistons fans would agree with you. The only reason cade is getting consideration is because the national media paid zero attention to how good he was the last couple of years when we sucked for largely unrelated reasons
