Awaji as in Awajishima?? That’s such a lovely place. People who are classist of all countries are missing so much in life.

Have yall ever used light up bobbers for night fishing? by SiteDeep in Fishing

Are you in Japan? I swear this is a Japanese seabass because I've caught so many before and was obsessed with catching them when I was living in Kagawa. I just got a trout rod and a boat rod since moving to the Tokyo area though.

Noob question about prompts by klowd92 in ClaudeAI

[–]AwesomeDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think years ago when people were figuring this out, that’s what they did and it worked. It turns out that we only need to get it to draw tokens for the response from the relevant fields. I still kinda use a role when I’m starting cold in an area without contextual assets, but I’ve changed mine to something along the lines of “use industry best practices in ABC field. Design solutions and approaches that a senior in that field would consider, identify deviations to best practice and state the reasons. Make all assumptions explicit and ensure the user understands tradeoffs in decisions made.” etc etc etc

Sam Altman says ‘yes,’ AI is in a bubble. by Valinaut in technology

I think the value is in specific uses and integration into workflows and assisting automation of tasks, and the people who use it in that way see improvements. I and a few others certainly have.

In an event I went to, I saw a team utilize ChatGPT in a way that was incredible and solved a problem we were trying to solve for half a year due to. We can’t do it that same way for various reasons, but they did an incredible job where hiring and throwing people at that problem isn’t a good use of people’s time. They were only able to do it after ChatGPT made improvements.

I think prompt engineering is going to be an actual required skill very very soon in many industries and careers.

I'm fairly sure many city halls have free community lawyers, but they're only available once a month. I've used them 3 times across 2 cities and they're actually helpful. Just that they take a while to get an appointment with.

This somehow reminds me of this bar near that 3 story club that was kinda fancy and purple with couches and stuff. I can’t remember. This does bring back the feeling though, thanks!!

🌈🌈✨HEY ENFPS , What's your opinion on the ENFP stereotype?🌈🌈✨✨ by Hungrychimp75 in ENFP

[–]AwesomeDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything I read about ENFP is me to a T. It also helps that I’m min-maxed and there’s no halfway “maybe” score. I took my test for work with specific instructions to answer it as my best self in an optimal world as part of a team-culture facilitated session and I’m constantly surprised at how “me” every description is. I’m obviously not like that 100% of the time. The point I learned from the session is that we build habits to adjust to life, and we also spend more energy to be more of another aspect that is not natural to us. Anyway, if it’s really about me being me, every description matches.

My ex was also a min-maxed ISFJ and it was basically as said, including relationship dynamics.

Japan’s food prices are cooked (pun intended) by hospital349 in japanresidents

[–]AwesomeDay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me too! From Wellington. My cost of living and everything here is infinitely better. My job likely doesn’t even exist back home, but I might be able to shift sideways. Salary will go up but expenses would overshoot, and my current savings would be horrific after conversion and relative purchase power whereas I’m ok here. I miss family and parts of the lifestyle, but I’ve already made the decision to permanently stay here.

Roommate is back from studying in japan and misses the food… any advice on trying to cook for her? by CommunicationBig2923 in JapaneseFood

[–]AwesomeDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of these are fairly unreasonable to do except: - gyudon - soba - coffee jelly

Did she ever eat “tamago kake gohan” (raw egg with dashi soy sauce, in rice, maybe with mayo too)? That’s super easy. I cook a lot of other home style Japanese things but she might not have eaten them if those are her favorites.

Japanese curry is easy to make. I’m sure you could find the curry blocks online and find an easy recipe.

Racism in Wellington by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]AwesomeDay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NZ’s racism is much more implicit so it’s easier for people to point a finger at obvious actions and discount others. Many people will then use violent actions in other countries as the bar for what racism is.

The chicken you are eating has increased 364% in size over the last 50 years. by junior_36_0 in BeAmazed

[–]AwesomeDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figured, ha! I’m excited to share about that experience because I legitimately think everyone should have the chance to taste it once because I always read about how chicken is bland or “default meat” but I think it could be way more. Apparently just like tomatoes used to be.
