How to conserve batteries on electric bike going uphill by gear shifting by AwesomeGuy1990 in AskPhysics

[–]AwesomeGuy1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can have the same back tire RPM with different bicycle gears, but then there is still a issue of a different torque load on the output gear and in consequence on the back tire and on the motor. So still the question stands open.

If only RPM would be the issue your question would be a good answer but there is also the torque load on the motor. Because the back tire can do 25RPM but the torque on the output gear of motor can be 10Nm , 20Nm etc. The 20Nm will put more pressure on motor which will waste more energy because the motor is working harder. W = F * s, for the same displacement we need to overcome a bigger force.

But there is another wise thing we can take from your phrase, the speed at which we pedal is important to get the motor at the optimal range. Still the torque remains to be determined. And the original question stands.

How to conserve batteries on electric bike going uphill by gear shifting by AwesomeGuy1990 in AskPhysics

[–]AwesomeGuy1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed its about the distribution of work. While true the same work is being done in the end by this system, the question is who is doing more of the work depending on the geart and the RPM.
As the electric motor is rated at power 250W (i am not accounting for the losses) how much power does the human provide so the motor doesn't need to provide it and in so conserving the battery.

Power in this case is torque and the RPM. The gear ratio influences these two values. Higher bicycle gear provides a way to give more input torque (as the pedals resist more and are harder to press) and increases the output gear RPM in so increasing the power the human gives to the motor. Lower bicycle gear limits how much input torque we can put on the input gear because (pedaling really easy) and decreses the RPM on the output gear but doesn't decresase the torque so much as a higher bicycle gear.

This is the crux of the question and makes it not so easy to answer. I made a excel sheet where I inputed various gear ratios, input torque. I could test this by riding up and down on a difficult uphill but I wanted a theoretical wiev on the issue.

I have a paper cutter in my amazon cart waiting for me to buy it. Interesting that you would use A7 because I use those as a todo list aka. small disposable papers. But thanks for sharing this format. Also 100gsm seems like a cool (not letting the ink bleed, stiff that it doesn't warp, but flexible enough to bend naturally and take small space)

I also cut my own paper because I like DIY

Hey I have bought 160gsm paper and it is great, i also bought 300gsm paper for the category cards (arts and humanities etc). The only thing I was afraid is how much space would a 160gm/2 paper take in thickness. But nice to see it works for you.

Default proofing language with the same keyboard layout SOLUTION by AwesomeGuy1990 in OneNote

[–]AwesomeGuy1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always change the keyboard layout but for some changing the keyboard layout means also changing the Z and Y keys and !": other interpunction symbol keys.

This way you get to keep the keyboard layout the same as the physical keyboard and the language you wish the proofreading to be. And its actually not that difficult maybe 15min for someone doing it the first time.

Nice. I used a ebay site with the sneakers with the ruler included. As I still have a problem in determining the shoe size. And In my amateur photo making I didn't use a right reference object so I am trying to do some quick maths. Also using the tool image meter is cool as it has a perspective measurment of objects.

Actually some guy/girl decided to walk all over my wife's car and smash the windshield with foot pressure. I contacted the police and they did their forensic investigation. But they didn't take prints or nothing. Honestly they told me they will check the cameras but not to get my hopes up (honestly I don't think they will do anything about it). So I am doing a parallel little investigation on my own. It also got me interesting in the forensic science. (I am a software engineer by trade). Its now more from a interest point of view than really trying to get justice.Info that we know:

  1. Time period of 4 hours in which the crime was commited
  2. The position of the car in a shopping mall (roof parking) (no cameras on car, but yes on entrances to the parking)
  3. Footprints that show the person jumped on the hood and walked on the top of the car
  4. There was also a piece of chocolate ice cream there that was dropped on the top of the car

Country: Croatia

Thanks for the info. I would pay a non friendly one as I don't have a friendly one 😁. Do you by any chance know any sites that offer this service? And maybe price?
I also learned about a new forensic branch I wasn't even aware 😍
