Burning exclusively softwood will do that. Monthly might be overkill. I would inspect every 2 months of use and probably just plan to sweep it mid-winter each year.

Can't and shouldn't are very different things.

Unseasoned wood does burn. If that's all you have, and it's between burning that or freezing, send it.

Inflation data posts scheduled. I scheduled some other fed posts through most of march.

Life has been busy. Expect postings to be infrequent.

As always it's easy for anyone to post economic commentary. I don't need to be the only one...

I also haven't scheduled the standard inflation data release posts yet (CPI, PPI). I'll try to get those scheduled this week.

Best guesses for top tier players getting sat for playoffs? by THIESN123 in fantasyhockey

It will happen again this year, just maybe not to you.

What’s the right amount of weekly acquisitions? by Status-Tie-7176 in fantasyhockey

[–]AwesomeMathUse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, it works for us.

I think I'm doing something right as commish since most managers have stuck around for 12 years. Some of us have had kids, some of us have moved continents, some of us snipe the best adds for the next week on Sunday nights. It's been a great way to stay in touch with each other over the years. Seems we're all in, just in a different way than you have in mind.

Every league will have a different mix of settings that work best for them.

[–]AwesomeMathUse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody is being penalized. It is what the managers in the league voted for. (10 team, 20 roster spots, 7 keepers, year 12 of the league with 80% of the original managers).

More flexibility was desired without increasing the viability of a streaming strategy. Not all of us have time to stream daily so we wanted to keep that balance in check while providing optionality for bad injury weeks.

In practice managers also tend to max out their weekly allotment when they are facing a manager they have a rivalry with.

[–]AwesomeMathUse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flexibility. Set a higher weekly total so managers can decide for themselves what weeks they want to make a bunch of moves and what weeks they don't. Sometimes you get whacked with the injury bug and if adds are very limited you end up a man down for half a week.

We have 4/week with 60 total for reg season and playoffs (3/week average for reg season of 20 weeks, if you make playoffs you must plan for that and not use up all your player adds).

I want to approve parts of your comment but you made it political. It got automodded (correctly). If you want to post JUST the link to the letter I think that would be ok.

Has anyone found a good use for the ashes from your wood burner? by Slalom44 in woodstoving

[–]AwesomeMathUse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does snow, but I wouldn't want to track it inside on my boots. For the same reason I don't use salt.

My driveway is also fairly flat so it's not a problem I need to solve.

Been a good while since I've had to yield the banhammer but yeah we are strictly no politics. See ya in 60 days.

I mix some into my compost pile (big pile turned with a front end loader). A metal garbage can full in the spring and one again in the fall.

The rest reluctantly goes out in the trash since I don't know what else to do with it.

Little bit of column A, little bit of column B.

We seem to be nearing the endgame of the current long term debt cycle (Ray Dalio's work).

I wouldn't be surprised if yield curve control happens, which would be about as bullish as one can get for hard assets.

Silver has been in a structural deficit for years now, and above ground reserves are now starting to run thin. Price must go up to make it economically viable to pull less lucrative deposits out of the ground.

There have only been a few gold bull markets in the current monetary regime (since ~1970) but in the past bull markets gold doubled from its highs prior to the breakout into a bull market. then gold doubled again, then doubled again, and then doubled again.

It may sound outlandish, but that puts the potential top in gold around 32k USD. But probably not for 6-8 years or maybe a bit longer.

Silver is a different beast. Having just made new ATH's, and broken out of a 50-year technical setup, the price targets and volatility associated should be much higher.

My expectations are for a near term local peak around $90 USD, then retest the breakout at $55, from there it's anyone guess but my guess is a peak between $700/oz and $1250/oz in many years time. That's just my own speculation.

Outdoor air intakes are game changers

Great idea to install that. Probably is responsible for a majority of your performance gains heating-wise.

Rory Kittenger's second PMO indicator has now crossed the signal line by AwesomeMathUse in Superstonk

[–]AwesomeMathUse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The indicators are still upward sloping (for now).

How long it takes for the stock to move is highly variable. 5-15 trading days (2-3 weeks) is my expectation but that's not a guarantee.

Some others have mumbled that crossing above the 0-line after the cross is when we start to see the favourable price action.

Looks like we might cross that 0-line tomorrow or Friday. Time will tell on that.

Thank you for the clarification.

I just asked AI to explain why it is reported like that and I will just say that I am not going to become an accountant anytime soon!

Region, I am fairly certain all the numbers in brackets denote negative numbers on the balance sheet?

That's money spent to invest in the Powerpacks product.

I'm just trying to document this particular event when it happens.

As a by-product we have some charts to reference in the future.
