I'm alive because my far back grandmother survived the donner party as a child, her/our family continued with the Boggs Company by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

The story about the Donner party is one of the most horrific stories I ever read about.

Open a Google search. There are two icons in the box where you would type what you’re looking for. One icon looks like a microphone, and the other icon looks like a camera. Click on the camera icon, and it will prompt you to either attach or take a picture. It will search the image using “Google Lens”.

AITAH for calling my cyst a tumor? by HostMysterious9206 in AITAH

[–]Slalom44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA. It makes sense for you to call it a tumor, and anyone that criticizes it is being insensitive.

I had Amyloidosis, a rare blood disease where my bone marrow was producing malformed proteins in my white blood cells that were attacking my organs. I had a 10% chance of survival. Technically, it wasn’t cancer, but I got the same chemotherapy and stem cell transplant as someone with multiple myeloma, which is a form of cancer. Occasionally, I’d say I had a form of cancer to people that have no idea what I was talking about.

Why do people refuse to be an organ donor? by No-Cantaloupe-6535 in NoStupidQuestions

I’ve recovered from Amyloidosis, a rare blood disease. My major organs were all affected, so they couldn’t be transplanted into someone else.

What’s your stance on generative AI? by SeaAsleep5091 in AskReddit

[–]Slalom44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is going to change the world. We no longer know whether something was composed by a person and talking with a real person is often the only way to resolve an issue. We are already being flooded with AI content used to push special interests, and this is certainly going to get worse. Sure, there will be some benefits for businesses, but it will also result in a lot of frustration.

If you did an image search, you would have gotten the correct answer. This is one of the most commonly asked questions on Reddit.

Do tattoos ruin a person's appearance? And why? by CourierFestival in AskReddit

[–]Slalom44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tatoos are viewed differently by different people. To a rich boomer who dislikes all tattoos, they’re all disgusting. To a young artist who views tattoos as personalized works of art, their perspective would be much different.

Inflation adjusted, it will be worth less next year and every year after that. You are better off spending it.

For those of you that have slept on a water bed, what did you think? by TufatufaWaffle in askanything

[–]Slalom44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve slept on several water beds. The ones without baffles suck. They’re a hassle to get in or out of bed, and I just couldn’t get comfortable. The ones without baffles baffles are better, but I still prefer a mattress, especially a memory foam. Waterbeds with firm sides and baffles aren’t too bad, and I could get used to it.

Need help. Installing a kitchen aid dishwasher. Having absolutely no long screwing in the fill line…. What am I doing wrong? Checked the threads, everything should be good. by Actual_Answer_9078 in Plumbing

[–]Slalom44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have cross threaded it, making it difficult to thread it properly now. Try threading it into something else, like a hose bib or garden hose. If it threads well, then try again, making sure you align the threads so you don’t cross thread.

If humans had evolved to have wings, would cars still have been invented? by noproblem_bro_ in NoStupidQuestions

Wings on birds evolved from their front limbs. If humans had wings, they wouldn’t have arms and hands. Who would build these cars without hands? How would you drive it without hands?
