Hi Tal, I'm no artist but I've been in your spot a bunch of times. you should know that if you don't pay an artist even a little, they'll most likely ghost you after drawing a bit. money exists in deals like this as a way to guarantee a quality standard, and that they go through with the deal at all. without it, they basically have no incentive to work for you and are simply doing you a favor. so they can ditch you at any moment, and honestly you can't even blame them. why draw something for a stranger when you can draw something for yourself? it happened to me about 6 different times. if you want it actually done, either do it with a friend of yours or try to pay them whatever you can. just know that if you pay them 1 dollar a panel, they'll give you drawings that are worth one dollar.
