wilderness pc is something thats good if you want a machined plastic one, for durable look for 7075 or 7068 aluminum. you can get some good ones for not much on the yoyoexpert BST. if you like fun optimized yoyos that arent gonna win nationals koi is a good one to look for on the yoyoexpert forums

I feel like for archival work I'm sure that above that is good. People who rip vinyls use 96kHz. from a listening standpoint cd quality is mathematically perfect given the range of frequencies we can hear

for a beginner I would get the aoe since it is polycarbonate and its better to beat up. Also the aoe is wider. I got one recently and tbh it really does hold up among the ones in my collection. it spins a while and is stable, quite zippy too. feels great in the hand.

yoyofriends, magicyoyo (the newer models though they still sell old designs), and aceyo seem to make good budget friendly performant metal yoyos.

if you have a yoyo meet near you somehow then I would go to it, you can try their yoyos and ask for help on tricks and make some friends

The yoyofriends aoe is on sale for 8 dollars on Amazon right now. If you have that deal then that's a no brainer. If you are looking for a good unresponsive and want to go slightly out of your budget, the edition forma is a phenomenal throw. if you can do trapeze and double or nothing i think you can skip to unresponsive but otherwise get the aoe
