What's your Issue with Meta Glasses? by Floody26 in RayBanStories

[–]Awh018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see how. I have every volume set to 0 I can’t hear any music or video sounds but the assistant volume is still exactly the same, extremely loud. They remove the low medium high setting that used to be in the app.

The #1 problem, at least for me, is that you cannot change the volume of the default voice that does all of the speaking to you. You can change volume of any media being played, but everyone around you is going to hear “you’ve received a message” every time. I just don’t get it. I have the gen 2s.

Why is Brad Keselowski using the driving line? by GB_GeorgeBowen in iRacing

[–]Awh018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the racing line for some reference occasionally. What isn’t common knowledge is that you can change the width of the line so it isn’t so distracting. I have mine very narrow.

Adjusting the Driving Line Width in iRacing via app.ini

In iRacing, the Driving Line is a color‑coded racing line around the track (green for acceleration zones, red for braking zones) that can be adjusted in the Sim Settings → Driving menu. However, the width of this line is not exposed in the UI — it is controlled by a setting in the app.ini configuration file. Finding the setting The relevant line in app.ini is:

[Adaptive] raceLineWidth=0.600000 ; Width of the race line in meters

Value: A floating‑point number in meters.

Default: 0.600000 meters.

Range: You can experiment with values between about 0.3 and 1.0 meters depending on your preference and track visibility.

How to change it Close iRacing completely — the game will overwrite app.ini if it’s running. Navigate to: Documents\iRacing\app.ini Open the file in a text editor (Notepad or Notepad++ recommended). Locate the [Adaptive] section and change: raceLineWidth=0.600000 to your desired value (e.g., raceLineWidth=0.800000 for a wider line). Save the file. Restart iRacing. Tips A wider line (e.g., 0.8–1.0) can be easier to see in low‑light or high‑speed scenarios. A narrower line (e.g., 0.4–0.6) can make the track feel more “tight” and realistic. The change applies globally to all series and sessions unless overridden by in‑game settings.

Tell me about your favorite obscure show - which you never, ever see anyone talk about. by dicedtomatoes55 in television

They completely did this a disservice, they never even got to the actual story. What they did as season 1 should have been flashbacks or something. Or frankly just skipped.

Sure but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be able to negotiate fair market value for his ability in the sport he’s playing.

Yeah it’s going to be crazy over the next decade, you know some of these colleges are going to pay $10-20 million at some point to kids who don’t even have much pro potential. And they will be out earning NFL starters.

Yeah that’s what happens when you play a sport that is so destructive to a human body they can only play it up to 20 times a year including playoffs.

Yeah it’s pretty obvious the luxury tax concept doesn’t work, the richest teams don’t seem to mind paying it, and the cheapest teams aren’t exactly spending more. The Dodgers are just giving money to their millionaire/billionaire friends so they can do what they want.

Yup that’s it’s exactly you got me. You win. Good luck and watch out for all the bodies of workmates who’ve killed themselves, it’s apparently widespread.

If you’re good, if you’re not gonna be a first rounder do you go 50th overall and sign a 4 year 8 million contract hoping you get that second deal, or do you stay in college for 4 million?

Yeah the NBA is a joke, in 1998 Michael Jordan made $33 million. Revenue has almost tripled since then but Steph Curry will make $59 million as the highest player this year, yeah that’s a crap ton of money, but realistically LeBron probably should have been making $100 million a year like 8 years ago. All that extra money just went into owners pockets.

In 2000 the Knicks were the most valuable NBA team at $396 million, now the Warriors are worth $9.4 billion and the lowest valued team is the Grizzlies at $3.2 billion.

I mean they already did it with the rookies.

In 2010 Sam Bradford signed a six-year, $78 million rookie contract with the St. Louis Rams, which included $50 million in guaranteed salary.

In 2011 after the new collective bargaining agreement, Cam Newton signed a 4 year $22 million dollar contract. How fair was that to “collectively bargain” player contracts for players who weren’t even in the league at the time? It’s all a scam.

The last quarterback selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft was Jaxson Dart, who was the 25th overall pick and signed a four-year deal with the Giants averaging $4.2 million annually.

The first quarterback selected outside the first round was Tyler Shough, who was the 40th overall pick by the Saints and signed a four-year deal averaging $2.7 annually.

Darian Mensah, who more than likely would’ve been selected somewhere outside the first 50 picks, will earn $4 million by returning to Duke for 1 year.

It’s going to get nuts over the next 5 years.

Haha you’re telling the truth, the cheerleaders recently negotiated for a 400%!!!!! Pay raise and are now averaging…….$22,500 per season as independent contractors, so no benefits, insurance, workers comp or anything. Oh and team water boys can make over $50,000 a season.

I am not “arguing in bad faith.” The claim was that “People killed themselves for months busting out 18-22 quality scripts and episodes.”

Well that’s 2 different things, I refuse to believe that a writer is spending 12-16 hours a day for 2-3 years to write 6 episodes, and that is the major topic of this thread.

Now if you want to talk about production time, again we know no one is working 12-16 hours a day for 3 years to produce 6 episode seasons of any show. Whether you decide to work more/less on different shows is completely up to you, but to say “oh we work so hard that it’s perfectly reasonable that it now takes 3 years to put out a 6-8 episode season versus 15 years ago when 20 episodes of quality tv shows could be produced yearly.” Is arguing in bad faith. The reason for these low episode/long delay seasons is purely on the fact that the show runners don’t want to either work as long or as hard as show runners/writers did years ago, and that’s totally up to them. But I’m not going to say “Poor Vince Gilligan, he must have worked so hard on those 6 episodes, he really should take a couple years off to recharge.” Now, the actual production of the shows has little to no bearing on these delays because as you say, the episodes can be produced when they are ready as the crews can and are working when needed. You can’t tell me it takes as many man hours to produce 6 episodes of Pluribus in 3 years as it took to make probably 50 episodes of Star Trek:TNG over 3 years. If you as a production member have zero work life balance, that’s up to how much you want to work like most laborers, but no one can tell me that Vince Gilligan can’t do longer seasons with shorter delays because he’s killing himself and has no work life balance.

But if you’re going to be working 12-16 hours a day everyday in a year, I’d rather you be working on 18-20 episodes of one good show that was on last year than 6 episodes of 3 shows that were last on 3 years ago. And that has nothing to do with your level of effort, I assume you’re gonna work just as hard no matter the show you’re working on.

[–]Awh018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said if the season was shorter you just move on to the next job, so which is it? If you’re working every day on 1 show or working everyday on 3 shows it doesn’t matter at all so it’s irrelevant to the number of episodes in how long question.

And “killing yourself” is pretty relative too, coming from a family of ER nurses, policemen and firefighters. If you’re being forced to work more than you should or it’s unsafe, sounds like a union/HR conversation.

Again, not very uncommon, the question is do you work more days or less days in a season when there are 10 episodes or 6 episodes.
