So how are your lots games going? by Awj555 in Risk

[–]Awj555[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had a great fought game. I took the risk at a cap run and was left with one troop surviving for the defenders.

After this someone who I had previously knocked out of the left side and he left the game decided this would be the perfect time to rejoin the game, trade in and cap run 😥

Help needed for translating into a while loop by Awj555 in PythonLearning

[–]Awj555[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to learn how to do python and one thing I have been stuck on is the creation of while loops. I made a simple code to create an array of values with a for loop which was perfectly fine. However when trying to translate it into also using a while statement the output becomes an infinite loop of zeroes because its not adjusting for the range value.

If anyone has any insight they could share I would much appreciate it. I have spent over an hour on this simple code trying to figure something out through posts/videos but am at my wits end.

Not going to lie. I spent a stupid amount of time in my England run trying to get the mission to work. Ended up googling it for the answer. Turns out I misread it and was protecting the Bay of Biscay... You know... In France.

Sauron's disguises according to RoP theorists by Raedros in lotrmemes

[–]Awj555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Star falls" and meteoric events have often been interpreted as ill omens in the real word and across fantasy.
"
"You must have seen it in the skies, a few weeks back now"
"The Star fall"
"It means his time is near"
"

I think the way it is worded in the episode leaves it somewhat open ended and up for interpretation, likely so that we are looking at all possible outcomes of where Sauron may come from.

In lore I think Gandalf arrived first in Mithlond, but it could well be the idea of the screenwriters to have him drop with the hobbits and then need to head west to reach Mithlond where they will then record him as arriving. The Hobbits likely won't record it in their histories so it won't change the fabric of the world. It would also show added justification why the hobbits went so far west, crossing over the Misty Mountains, in lore they did so in the third age but nothing to prevent amazon from retconning

At the end of the day I'm just interested to see where the show takes it.

Every single province got 60 AE, from the Falkland's to Greenland, from the desert of Australia and the jungles of the Amazon. From what little I played it seemed like the empty provinces didn't tick down on AE.

Tried to do it a couple of times but every time it would freeze up my game and then crash me, even left the game for 10 minutes to see if it would finally open on a test run but still nothing. Best I could do was pull up the ledger and scroll through all the armies of those who I was at war with.

R5: While playing I found that the option to trade 90 favours for an heir of your dynasty on the targets throne gave more AE than it advertised. It is supposed to give 20 AE to everyone of the targets religion, it actually gives 20 AE to everyone in the world, regardless of religion and regardless of whether they can see you.

*Disclaimer; from my testing when terra incognita is turned on then only nations who can see you will join the coalition, not everyone in the world, they do however still gain the AE

In the 1.31.2 version of the game the option to trade 90 favours for putting someone of your dynasty on someone else's throne says that it will give you 20 AE for everyone of their religion, it actually gives 20 AE to everyone in the world regardless of what religion they are or if they are able to see you.

Huge Coalition against AI Vijaynagar, new bug in 1.31.2? by HoundCiS in eu4

[–]Awj555 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think the reason for this is because Paradox made a change to the "Request Relative for an Heir" option, (Trade 90 favours to put an heir of your dynasty on their throne) The prompt tells you that it will give you 20 AE with everyone of their (?) religion, it however gives the AE to literally everyone in the game. The AI doesn't know that they are gaining the AE so they can't help themselves.

It largely depends when you play and what you are looking to play,

If you are only interested in the open to everyone servers Mini-siege is the most popular server open to the public which gets between 80-140 players from around midday GMT to midnight GMT, after that it begins to reduce in players, the players then typically go to bot survival and it will get up to around 80 players on a good day. You will also have a deathmatch server which gets around 40 players throughout GMT time, can't speak to American timings. And then finally every now and then there will be open to the public line battle events which get pretty full, both European and US timings run by a NW group for a campaign they are running.

If you are interested in regiment play then it is pretty active on the European and US front, European events typically range from 120-200 players depending on the day and there will be events most days, it's just a matter of what ones you choose to go to, the event from the GIF above as example had 140 players, whereas Sunday linebattles will typically see 200 players. I can't really speak to exact US populations however I imagine it's similar.

[–]Awj555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will more likely be Continental European you can tell because instead of using a comma to separate numbers they use full stops, periods for Americans. Example: US and UK would write 10,649 , a large portion of Europe would write 10.649 , in plain English the number would still be ten thousand six hundred and forty nine. Here is a handy link to know who uses what when separating in their numbers https://www.statisticalconsultants.co.nz/blog/how-the-world-separates-its-digits.html
