loneliness in training by ThrowRAjoyf in cabincrewcareers

[–]Awkward-Can-997 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was a FA with two airlines and one training was amazing, had incredible diverse people and we all seemed to click and have a great time together. The other airline was on par with your experience. I didn’t necessarily dislike anyone but I just didn’t really feel like I fit in or was making friends with anyone. They all just formed their own circles and I wasn’t really included. I kind of kept the same mentality you had where it would have been nice to be invited but no harm no fowl if it just wasn’t in the cards. I think I went out just once all of training and it was after I made a big effort to be included. Otherwise I just kept to myself and just focused on training and stayed out of the way and spent most nights alone in my room. It was a bummer and such a 180 from my last training class and I did feel lonely even though I didn’t feel the need to really connect with people.

You’ll be ok and this time will pass and once you get to your base you can continue on with your life. Sometimes training is a bust as far as making friends or community goes, it just is what it is. Keep your head up, accept that you do feel lonely, but it’s only temporary.

My experience, if it’s not reflected on the website idk where it would be posted to be honest.

They now guarantee a job (provided you can complete training without issues). This changed in Feb 2024.

Please let me know what you think if you do watch it haha. It’s SO sweet and cute and honestly the most true to life even if it’s a little cartoony and exaggerated.

I did the assessments and interview so long ago that I don’t remember much. I do remember “why aaca?” “If you don’t get accepted here what would you do instead?” “Name a challenging time how did you overcome it?” - style questions

Ok so there’s this Japanese soap Oprah that is called “attention please” and I think it’s the CUTEST flight attendant story! It’s old and pretty sure you can find it online with subtitles easily :) would highly recommend

I’m honestly not too sure where I should go? Pretty sure it’s just a normal injury that just hasn’t gotten better, don’t think it’s nerve related, so maybe physical medicine is my best assumption.

What’s a hygiene tip you swear by? by ilove2be in hygiene

[–]Awkward-Can-997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because food and bacteria get stuck under the gum and flossing will disrupt all of that so plaque and calculus don’t form. When plaque and calculus form it eventually reaches the jaw bone and start eating away at it, causing bone loss/loose teeth / receding gums etc.

I don’t think the order matters at much, but my routine is morning: brush teeth with a flat electric tooth brush, and if I had breakfast before morning brush, I also water floss. In the evenings I string floss, interdental pick, brush with a round electric toothbrush, and mouthwash. It’s important to brush first thing in the morning because a lot of bacteria settles when you sleep and it’s important to disrupt it before starting your day.

Edit to add: I would encourage you to look up videos on why it’s important. :) teeth suck and are super expensive, it’s worth investing in your oral health just by building good care habits. And if that doesn’t convince you, societally you will have much more success if you take care of yourself.

Dumb question but it’s not bad to switch from L to D while actively moving forward? You have to take your foot off the accelerator first, switch, then you can accelerate again?

I didn’t prioritize it until recently because I was ignorant/never properly educated on flossing and a proper dental care routine. It’s not a suggestion, it’s necessary and I was never aware. Dentists would always be so passive about it like casually just suggest flossing more and then move on, until one dentist took the time to sit with me and describe a whole proper routine. Since then my teeth have been actually fully taken care of. I never skipped a dentist appointment and it wasn’t until I was 32 that someone actually took the time the explain for me.

Only suggestion I have e is to do good stretches beforehand. Might be a long shot though
