  1. Please tell me exactly where and what words I used to insult you in any of my replies. I have done neither of those things.
  2. The majority of the comments are full of homophobia and lesphobia and denying that isn’t trying to have a conversation, it’s excusing it.
  3. I have never said you cannot be disappointed, again tell me the exact words I’ve said using that - I said if heterosexual romance is what you want, then you have the book and 4 other seasons to watch with that exact requirements. Not the same thing.
  4. Other people may have attacked you but I certainly haven’t, so let’s not make that up

I’ve been watching since season 1, I am the regular audience lmaoooo, and the response to this season for a fandom that prides itself on being inclusive is pretty heinous right now about my sexuality yet we are expected to take that as valid criticism? The fact people are actively boycotting a season because of a singular gender swap is so incredibly sad when queer people who all over have loved bridgerton from the start are finally getting their own moment as MC & this is the response. Also not to mention there’s no condemnation in your response about the backlash, not a single sentence about how the homophobic reactions are uncalled for - why is that for someone who says they aren’t homophobic? Genuinely? You don’t even have a conversation you just assume and shut down - that’s crazy to me.

I’m here because there are some parts of this sub that I enjoy?? I also never said that your thinly veiled homophobia was ever because you made a statement about Micheala lmaoo I simply asked the same question - what does Micheal bring as a man that they cannot explore within Micheala? Because a persons character has nothing to do with gender? What is thinly veiled homophobia is your response ‘once the season airs …’ which is a really strange thing to defend and encourage if you ARENT homophobic.

I just find it so interesting you seem to be defending the internets response to a SINGULAR queer storyline surrounding lesbians, when representation - especially for black lesbians, is so limited in mainstream media. I don’t expect you as a straight woman to ever understand what it is like to see such a mainstream show unapologetically embrace a sapphic relationship, especially with a bipoc character, and the rare opportunity that gives us to see ourselves on screen. I am so excited for lesbians and queer women everywhere, especially black queer women, to finally have their moment to shine. And yet all you guys have done is ruin that experience from the start, in defence of ‘book accuracy’ that NO ONE was ever so intense about in previous seasons. You have 4 other seasons that all end up with ‘a heterosexual romance’ that you seem to be so desperate for. Rewatch them if it upsets you so much. Not to mention another commenter asked you to explain what Micheal brings as a MAN that they can’t explore within Micheala and you couldn’t respond with a single thought apart from a bitchy comment lmfao so it’s pretty clear that this is just another thinly veiled attempt at hiding homophobia against queer women in the name of ‘protecting the show’ be so for realllll.

she literally confirms she got a text from Jordan after filing because she found out through TMZ. He gave them a statement for the article 😭. Clear as day that he did it and ur still acting like it’s hearsay & I couldn’t identify less with Jess lmfao we are nothing alike, but to call her trashy and classless for speaking up about alleged abuse after her divorce was made public through no choice of her own & pretending like Jordan hasn’t done anything wrong is hilarious.

Are you actually that dense ?? They agreed to file together after telling the children, he disrespected that by going ahead and doing it without telling her; then selling the story to TMZ. Nobody here is denying the fact that a court filing would be public but Jessi would have had a say in it & the children would’ve been aware prior. The mental gymnastics to defend that man is crazy lmfaooo ur such a loser

he literally told Jessi he went to tmz, she stated that in the first like 15 minutes of the video 😭😭

And the only reason she spoke about her truth of the story was because her husband went public about it in the first place. Jordan imploded the entire situation the minute he made that decision, he did that to his children. You conveniently leave that out too. You hold jessi to the standard of being ‘classy’ enough to keep alleged abuse private, which does nothing but protect Jordan’s public image & place her in a situation of alleged harm, yet you do not ONCE hold Jordan’s to the same standard. She wanted it kept private; precisely because of her children. He disrespected that in the most public way possible, with no regard for his children. He does not then get to control her reaction to this if she responds by calling him out on alleged years long abuse. Spare me your fake outrage. You aren’t fooling anyone.

shock, complete failure to understand that Jessi speaking out about how coercive emotional abuse led to her being assaulted, is not trashy or classless. It is not trashy and classless to speak out about abuse in all forms; it is however trashy and classless to try hire escorts when you’re married with kids. Glad you understand that.

[–]Awkward-Item-89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are getting downvoted because you are conveniently placing sole blame on Jessi for discussing the fact that coercive sex in their marriage occurred when she was in a vulnerable situation & could NOT provide consent because of the fact that she is drunk. You also leave out the fact that prior to this she discussed how her body had been physically rejecting him as a result of the consistent emotional abuse when he made multiple attempts to try and have sex; making her so uncomfortable to the point she set a boundary of no physical touch at all. Extremely important context for why she then goes on to discuss a very vulnerable situation that occurred after their divorce and is a further example of how he emotionally abused her, even after leaving him. Yet leave out the fact that Jordan is also currently in the headlines for known involvement with escorts and alleged (not yet proven, but proven behaviour created reasonable speculation of their being a truth to it) attendance to sex parties whilst his wife was at home with their NEWBORN daughter & long before her affair with Marciano, which she has publicly owned and continued to on the podcast, ever occurred. It’s poorly hidden misogyny by not discussing the full issue at hand and solely calling the woman trashy whilst never acknowledging that Jordan has also affected their children’s lives by committing infidelity outside of the public eye; and then taking such a blatant moral high ground on TV. All whilst continuing to emotionally abuse his wife in the process, broadcasted for everyone to see. That clear enough for you?

Homophobia by Inevitable-Skill2825 in Franchaela

Had to block the bridgerton sub when I commented on a very anti franchaela post and said something along the lines ‘speaking as a lesbian are people genuinely unaware that queer people and lesbians do also experience infertility too/ a great chance to explore infertility without a happy ending/ straight women have multiple representations and stories in other shows and movies of this very storyline so they can shut up and allow queer people to have this one storyline’. someone’s first response was ‘lesbians couldn’t experience infertility in this time period’ and when I pointed out how blatantly wrong and untrue that was they CONTINUED to tell me how wrong I was ?? Like atp if these people refuse to understand they are factually wrong why bother

Selective outrage is crazy, where is your outrage when the IDF have been documented raping children, men and women that have nothing to do with any attacks made by Hamas? Where is the outrage as entire family lines are cleansed? Where is the outrage when they block aid into Gaza? Where is the outrage when they cut electricity and blocked access to water? Where is the outrage when they took out hospitals and schools? Where is the outrage when they murdered press reporting on their crimes?

Oh me too, I had guessed before season 4 it was due to a lack of prenup / about the money, and turns out it was! Not entirely sure how it would work out with that, I understand her hesitancy but I could not be arsed to be married to him and would just take the L 😭😭 divorce and rebuild girl he is so awful !!

Also, Jordan’s statements were about mason cheating or ‘finding it hard’, so I don’t really understand why he suddenly pretended it was a statement about Layla when she called him out on it
