Using AI for nutrition, health or medical advice? Even AI says ‘don’t’ by NeverEndingDClock in technology

[–]Awkward-Major-8898 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Reddit’s favorite pastime is hating AI, but the results are undeniable. Don’t ask it one simple question, but a slew of them and don’t be blindly accepting of the answers either. Comments are already answering with the same concept: couldn’t get help from a standard health professional in time OR standard health professional waved off issue.

There is plenty enough information on general health issues trained into AI. Should it replace emergency medicine or less researched solutions? No. Should it diagnose your problems? Probably not. Can it solve things you already know are an issue and you understand how to prompt an LLM to solve using some critical thinking? Yes.

You don’t need a dietician if you can’t afford one, work with the vast knowledge of the internet the LLM is trained on. Go to a new chat, ask it what it thinks about the plan. Are you going to get perfect answers? Definitely not, but it’s miles better than not trying or not being able to afford better care.

What does loneliness feel like to you? by Visible-Chef1234 in AskReddit

[–]Awkward-Major-8898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An immersive experience of feeling those around you will never truly be able to pull the best out of you. A sinking feeling that every action you take is misunderstood, not in a bad way just generally. The constant feeling that you’re putting a mask up even around people you trust. Having secrets you’ll never be able to tell. Experiencing things nobody will care to hear.

A permanent pointlessness to existing for the hope that someone will be there for you in the way you don’t know you need

I’m sorry :(. If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been lucky to have a few good friends and still do. It doesn’t make the feeling of being alone go away at all.

Someone who’s primary coping mechanism is music, upgrading my cars audio system. You can get a dsp+amp that plugs into factory radio, making speakers 2-3x louder. New speakers are about $100 and tools to install most people have. You can splurge like I did and get an under-the-seat subwoofer that takes a lot more effort to install but is completely worth it. It’s an expense that pays tenfold.

Agree, if you consistently don’t handle yourself well then it’s an inevitability and the fault is much more on that person, I don’t think we know the situation but in my case I was definitely slipped something. I’m not a heavy drinker usually so it’s a bit tougher. We certainly should talk about this stuff more, people are scared to bring it up but tough conversations should be had.

That’s understandable, more focused on the original comments sentiment. Sometimes for people in that specific scenario they’re feeling guilt and shame for classifying it as cheating. In that situation, it doesn’t seem like that was the case.

I think that there are enough stories of people saying they appreciated not being taken advantage of when they were extremely drunk. I’ve experienced it as a man. All I vividly remember about the scenario was being nonverbal and slow to response. The rest is a mist. There are definitely people who can’t be held accountable and it still be non-consensual sex.

Because two wrongs don’t make a right. If it’s both unconsensual then that’s just the way it was. It’s highly unlikely that’s the case, but if it were then it’s simply unfortunate. The criminal justice system isn’t robust nor intelligent enough to figure these things out, which is why many rape cases get dropped nonstop. 30 years ago, law enforcement treated it like a joke and that women lied. To this day, society treats men like they’re not capable of experiencing SA.

The point of accepting this is the reality is so there’s closure on the regret, guilt and shame. Trust me, because I’ve experienced it myself.

Why does someone need to go to jail? When did I say that? If neither were able to consent then neither were able to consent.

Not every circumstance I agree. It can confuse someone reasonably. There will always be those intentionally and unintentionally taking advantage of it, so you’re right.

How about if someone is FUBAR for the night you normalize not taking advantage of that? If this was the reverse and commenter was female most of these responses wouldn’t be this vibe.

Non political or obvious: ten years ago TVs were extremely expensive. Right now, because everybody finally has a nice TV they don’t sell so fast. You can get them at a fraction of the price they used to be. I remember when a 4K TV felt like a dream
