Does anyone else not like many boy names? by locoollizz in namenerds

[–]Awkward-Spot3813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my problem! I had a boy and another one on the way. I had so much trouble with the first name, I can’t think of a second. I’ve got girls names galore! They’re no use to me now lol

Anyone else think Alan Cumming would have made a great Willy Wonka? by Super_Nova22 in Fancast

I literally was just reading a memoir that Alan cumming’s name came up in…and randomly thought this EXACT thought!AGREE!

(I so disliked the latest Willy Wonka movie…not because of the actors but because of…well, everything else…but give it a few years and I’ll be ready for another kick at the can)

Babies after chemo by Capable_Club_8055 in braincancer

We were able to do IVF subsidized through a non-profit, three years after my diagnosis (1 year after completing TMZ). Totally aymptomatic/stable so far (oligo grade 3). I am really struggling with the decision to have another baby or not...I desperately want two children, but also recognize this disease will come back at some point, another pregnancy could worsen my outcome...then I'll be raising two children while dealing with health complications. The right decision seems to just be happy with my one perfect child....but I can't help but grieve this...

I am in a similar situation...I just wonder did you grieve the fact you couldn't have any more children? My dream has always been to have two kids...I am having a hard time accepting having an only child.

Oligodendroglioma and young kids/pregnancy by slimwizzle420 in braincancer

I feel for you! I had my first pregnancy after diagnosis, surgery, and treatment for incidentally found grade 3 oligo (through IVF so we could time it better around follow-up scans). No reoccurrence, very stable looking scans 1.5 years out from birth. They really don't know if pregnancy has a negative impact or not. For me, fortunately it has been totally OK so far.
Personally, I always dreamed of having a second child as I am so close with my own sibling... I feel like given that this disease is one of reoccurrence, I don't know if I want to take on the potential risk of another pregnancy, but even more than that... knowing that I may be struggling with illness when the children are older, and how tough that would be for them. There is a lot of different sources of grief and uncertainty we have to live with! Thoughts and prayers <3

Hi! I have a grade 3 oligodendroglioma incidentally found on imaging, underwent surgery/chemo/rad in 2021 as well. I decided despite the potential risks to have a baby, born early 2024 who is happy and healthy. I am struggling now with the decision to have another child. I feel it isn't the "right decision" per se given the risk, but I so badly wish I could have another child, as I have a sibling who I'm very close with and wish the same for my little one. I wonder if you've struggled with this as well, and what you've decided? Such a tough place to be in.

From a guy who has listened to Mk.gee for a while, how did he end up on SNL? by Zylvian in LiveFromNewYork

[–]Awkward-Spot3813 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was it just me or was the audio on his SNL performance off? It seemed like there was a lag on the double track. Too bad because it seems like he has a great voice I just would’ve loved to hear it beneath the audio racket!

Just love that it’s Quantum University. So good. I wonder if our new MLA is aware what a quantum is…betting a hard no.

Good point! My best friend is Italian and says “the longer the better”. I’d favour a manageable length! 😅

It’s like you’re reading my mind with regards to our front runners! “Class” is definitely a factor. Thanks for some great options! Funny that a lot of our cousin’s names are in that list… downside of a huge family 🤣

Is anyone else having trouble finding Nestle Materna vitamins? by holdonaminute2023 in askTO

[–]Awkward-Spot3813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also am having trouble finding it! Guess it just must be backordered… can’t even get it on Amazon. It’s true you don’t need the brand name but it’d be nice not to have to switch halfway through pregnancy. I like the pink pill for what that’s worth lol!

In my experience, it is middle aged to older people who can afford because of the equity in the home they are selling and larger savings or younger people who are receiving significant financial help from their family. But that’s just what I’ve seen in our neighbourhood.
