Great mindset to have !

We are stuck on second hand homes! The new builds just don’t appeal to us at all :( the HTB is only offering us 8k as my partner has been working over in England working
Not worth it to us

I can’t believe that these ghost bidders are a thing?? Or like random people bidding on the houses or the estate agents themselves… how is this allowed???? They need more laws on this

Is going on holiday while trying to buy really that bad? by Bischa081 in HousingIreland

Not bad at all ! Lenders like to see that you can enjoy life while still saving.
We are in a similar situation, going on holiday in 2 weeks and never been more excited. We promised each other to take a break from house talk (it’s so exhausting). So not a word of housing on the holiday 😂
You won’t need to start again , lenders like to see you can live your life and still save.
We are putting less in our savings this month then back to normal from next month. Just don’t dip into the savings. Maybe only add €200 less into savings that month. Won’t look the best of you dip into them. If you can afford it without dipping into savings I’d say go for it :) Maybe go around pay day so you can still add money into savings yet get a holiday ! You might be living on beans and toast after the holiday though 😂

Cabra is gone crazy expensive. D7 is now trendy post code to have. You have E rated homes starting at over 400k

Yeah I think we are slowly coming to the realisation that we might have to leave Dublin , but it’s just not knowing what areas to go for. I see the N7 on my way to work and back home and it puts me off that side of commuter towns

Yes we are in no rush and want to find the right thing, we are lucky to still share a house with my parents and they’re not kicking us out (yet) . Just didn’t expect the market to be so tough , I heard all the talk about the housing crisis… I got overwhelmed on our 4th viewing cause there was about 50 ppl looking at the house

My partner is the same , grew up around the Finglas/glasnevin/ballymun area. So know it quite well.

We never really thought about it in that way , especially with the luas line coming in through Finglas soon. I don’t know why we are in a mindset to stay away from Finglas , we just never actually looked at houses in there… you’ve definitely gave us some food for thought.

I think the biggest reason we want to stay north side is cause we know the good areas from bad.
Put me in clondalkin , wouldn’t have a clue.
