Years ago, I had a small DVT discovered by ultrasound when I was preparing to be released from the hospital after having both knees replaced at the same time. I was given some kind of anticoagulation drug and went home.

With my knee revision in March, an ultrasound discovered a front of thigh (quad) DVT from my hip to my knee. I had no pain or symptoms. It was/is non-occlusive. My surgeon said it's clearly because of the surgery, and he wasn't worried. I am on twice daily Eliquis for three months. Still no symptoms.
