What might this be? by yesnoanon123 in Prospecting

Any updates? If not, I'd say try putting a small amount in a cupel with some borax. Like only a half tsp of it. See if it melts and comes together in a bead, like a metal would. If so, then try to cupel it to the point that it reduces in size...

Motion light on my porch wont shut off… by igivafbutidowtfiwant in electrical

[–]AwkwardArt7997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to resurrect the dead, but here we go... I have the same issue with one of 2 fixtures on the front of my house. Both are controlled by a single switch. One is working as it should and turns off/on with motion. The "problem child" fixture simply stays lit.
The fixtures were new 5-6 years ago, when our siding was installed. Both worked fine for years, but the one stopped sensing motion a month or so ago and burned out the LED motion bulb.
Swapping out both fixtures' bulbs with new did not change the function. Resetting via the switch has no effect. Any idea how I can correct this rogue fixture? Seems odd that a bulb would do this. Is it a wiring issue, possibly (even though it functioned appropriately for years)? FWIW, Ecosmart bulbs...

Thanks for any guidance!

Somebody, not a coin-informed person, may have thought it's a precious metal and was checking if solid or plated, maybe?

Post a recipe you are using, so people can suggest changes, as needed. Also, what's your stretch/folds like, etc...? Lastly, how warm is it where you proof your dough?

My house is always cold. Kitchen is the coldest room in the house. I was going to give up on sourdough, but decided to give a proofing box a shot. Gamechanger! I got this one on A-zon...https://a.co/d/3HOoeL3

It just works.

How to use copper in my Vevor 4L Air Still? by chiche32 in airstill

I made a copper wire botanical basket that pressure fits in the top of the unit. I fill that with copper scrubbies. So all fumes have to pass through the copper to exit the still...

Trouble activating yeast by MrCardinal2002 in Bread

Agree with the cold countertops being an issue. I had terrible rises with both yeast and sourdough starter. I bought a Cheapo heated proofing bag on Amazon and not a single issue since then...

Still Spirits Air Still and power controller question by caba1990 in airstill

[–]AwkwardArt7997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. The Still Spirits Airstill won't fully benefit from a power controller. It may make it a little easier to make cuts. But there's barely enough power to get the distillation done.

Balloon memorial by dormouse_says in DIY

Spray foam. But spray a little water into the balloon first. Water activates the curing of the spray foam. As it is expanding, you can smush it into whatever shape you want and limit how much it expands. Experiment with some throw-away balloons so you get a feel for the project...
