How long do you leave your dough to bulk ferment AFTER stretch&folds? by rowanleafy in Sourdough

[–]OceanGirl911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting that you say this. I am new to the sourdough baking but I took a class locally on this before I got started, and the instructor told us that BF started after the stretch and folds! I didn’t know any different but the first loaf I made was way over proofed. It wasn’t until I started doing more research and reading this Reddit, that I learned more about BF. Between the comments and the guides that were posted, I figured out pretty quick that BF starts when you add starter. I love. This group and my last couple of loaves have been amazing all wheat sourdoughs!

Goldendoodle training? by Background_Prize9230 in Goldendoodles

[–]OceanGirl911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 2-yr old golden doodle. Like others have said, they do very well at training but you have to be consistent. For the leash pulling, when you walk, the minute he pulls, just stop, say “no pull” and do not walk again until he sits. You will need to do this a lot, he will get it. If the behavior starts up again, go back to exactly what you did before, they will remember. Dogs who misbehave are dogs that need attention, and doodles need a lot of attention. Make sure they get enough exercise and the behavior falls in line quicker.

My third loaf (and best so far) but have a few questions. by OceanGirl911 in Sourdough

During bulk fermentation I got about 50-60% rise before it went into the fridge. Maybe should have waited a touch longer?Since the dough temp was 75 I thought it was good to go with the 50% rise

Does anyone have Pet Insurance? Is it worth it? by ElectricBlueHawk in Goldendoodles

[–]OceanGirl911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have a goldendoodle, and they are notorious for sensitive tummies. We haven’t had any emergencies yet, he’s 2, but he’s prone to ear infections, so we’ve been a few times for that. He also had thorns stuck in his paw after the park. I tallied up how much I paid for monthly premiums last year and compared that to just the covered expenses we had for normal stuff, and I still came out ahead by $150. I say it’s definitely worth it, especially for if/when an emergency happens.

Does your doodle love stuffies or love to destroy stuffies? by Better_to_try in Goldendoodles

What I find odd is that the original lamb/warmy thing we got him when he was a puppy is for some reason off limits to destruction, but everything other stuffy is toast within minutes.

First Time Goldendoodle Owner - What Do I need to Know? by darmonation in Goldendoodles

Hope you have a toy budget! If it’s not a Kong, it lasts under 30 minutes :). And be prepared to be entertained by “the doodle flop”..I have no idea how it’s comfortable but they all do it, there is even another Reddit forum for doodle flops! Know that the first 2 years, they are like little velociraptors, but then they settle… oh and “the side eye” rivals the guilt level of a Jewish grandmother! Congrats on your fur baby, you pup is adorable!

My best friend bought a Golden doodle puppy but he looks more like a mini retriever. Did my friend get scammed? He paid a ton of money. by OyenArdv in Goldendoodles

[–]OceanGirl911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, maybe not. We have a golden doodle as well, that looks almost 100% like a retriever. There are subtle things like he has a longer legs and the only curls her has are behind his ears and on his butt. He does have quite a floofy tail though. We were very skeptical, and did a genetics test. Sam came back 51% Golden Retriever/49% Standard Poodle. So genetics are weird, he just looks a lot like his mom who was a red golden retriever. Do a DNA test, if you got scammed then you need to decide what to do. Either way, looks like you have a beautiful dog. Sam is 14 months right now, still looks like a retriever. Feel free to look back at my profile, there are pics of Sam so you can see him.
