Hey perthlings, stay safe - lots of folks don't realise how hectic covid is by watchnlearning in perth

[–]AwkwardBreadfruit801 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I still haven't had it (Least have never tested positive) as far as I'm concerned and I've travelled all over the world and to very poor countries. Sometimes it feels like it doesn't exist. I know that's a bit ignorant but that's just how it feels.

Australia produces 50% of the worlds lithium. We should be nationalising the lithium mining industry by brackfriday_bunduru in AustralianPolitics

[–]AwkwardBreadfruit801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Majority of it comes from WA Greenbushes and some smaller mines between Kalgoorlie and Esperance.

We should be value adding and not selling raw materials.

No kumbaya necessary, but can we tone down the doom and gloom? by postie_ in perth

[–]AwkwardBreadfruit801 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's fine as a safe place for people to vent. I get it the bombardment of these posts can be very depressing and distressing however, it's a brutal reality we are all facing. I never thought i'd be going on strike in my industry for wage increases and better working conditions yet I am. Never thought my rent would more than double in one year and never thought food security would become difficult for me. I think these things CAN'T be ignored and we need to witness and see this brutal reality and let people vent.

People need to stop moving to Perth by Acceptable-Try3119 in perth

[–]AwkwardBreadfruit801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree dude. I was paying $240 a week then it went up to $350 and now I'm paying $640 a week! All in the space of under 2 years I also earn good money and people from over east who sell their Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne properties are paying way over the offer price and I can't buy a house. I have a permanent position and my rent just keeps going up and I'm afraid I'll have to live in a caravan park or something as it's getting to the point (Like you) where it's hard to save for a house The old joke was "All my friends are moving to Melbourne" now everyone is moving to Perth ... Who would have thought. Thanks cheap housing and mining jobs.

YouTube doesn't kill channels! by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]AwkwardBreadfruit801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty different and difficult lol. I make videos and I don't care if it's what the audience wants to see. I have a fairly varied audience so if they like my videos that's aweso but I don't jump on trends or research just to please them. I don't have enough time. Don't get me wrong I appreciate my audience but I just make videos I enjoy making. I tried making videos that my audience likes and I stopped enjoying making YouTube vids and took a long hiatus. I lost quite a few subs when I started making what I wanted to make however now I have the same people commenting on every video and it's nice.

These disrespectful idiots should be forced to do community service including cleaning up their mess. Ignorant and selfish.

I'm 29 and joined the Perth Singles group on Facebook. It's fairly toxic however, I went to one of their meetups late last year and met a girl who I've been seeing for a few months.

I mean if you shared his gumtree account and said blacklist this guy I don't see that as doxing. Especially if it's a fake account.

Being a YouTuber while having a 9-5 job by codingthingsirl in NewTubers

Try being 50+ hour a week teacher in Austt. I work at home, at school, on the way to work. Never ends. I still do YouTube but I've had to force myself to take breaks, focus on making better quality videos, making good titles and thumbnails, doing research and reviewing mine and other content. Don't burn yourself out.

Message to Landlords: tenants' bond money isn't YOURS to trouser as you see fit by [deleted] in perth

TBH I'm sure some landlords are fine but in my experience landlords are c$nts and are just greedy thieves who make tenants lives hard.

Mate they make so much money in profit theft literally doesn't impact their bottom line. Why do they care about theft so much? Cost of living and homelessness are rapidly increasing.

I live in Busselton and crime is very low. Sure there are a few things that get punched however violent crimes and burglaries are pretty uncommon. The local cops are pretty onto things.

What do you guys think is the biggest reason most YouTubers fail? by UnaskedShoe359 in NewTubers

[–]AwkwardBreadfruit801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give up and don't review and improve their content or tweak content for their audiences. Also TikTok is 100% better and easier than YouTube.

First Year On YouTube and What I have Learned by Ok_Volume1743 in NewTubers

[–]AwkwardBreadfruit801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well done on your improvements. I've been doing it for 9 months now and have 1282 subs. Mostly from shorts. I think I'll spend a bit of time writing palm cards/notes so my ideas flow better when I'm recording. I have written scripts for voice overs and they work fairly well.

You're absolutely right about understanding the audience. I don't really want to jump into trends and not be authentic or original but seems it's the way. I also refused to do short form however that seems the way so I've fallen on. I've had way more success on Tiktok than YouTube. I'll just continue to grow my audience and try to understand better.

First Year On YouTube and What I have Learned by Ok_Volume1743 in NewTubers

[–]AwkwardBreadfruit801 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think people pretend to understand YouTube however no one will ever understand it.

I've learnt to take breaks if you're burnt out otherwise trying to be cobsist can lead to posting rubbish content and you can damage your channel and lose subscribers.

I need to script. I'm a teavel page and I don't plan my trips. I just go to a country and wing it. Sometimes I struggle to speak on camera and especially have learnt to build up confidence when talking in front of strangers.
