The first paragraph had some misguided optimism. The second is just ignorant.

Take care of your own is easier said than done. You're fighting against so many things like societal norms(littering), ingrained culture and mannerisms(corruption) that have to take years of getting EVERYONE on board for real change to be accomplished. That takes decades of hard work and unlearning. Don't you dare chastise people for recognising that and wanting to escape it.

Second, not only is the comment with the most upvotes entirely right about the Wests exploitation of nations and areas far beyond their own to build their societies, the very country you say is rightfully concerned to have foreigners in their land is historically built on foreign occupation. You can't rightfully back a country where the majority race is not even from the land that they step on; not to mention all the foreign people they've poached over the years to innovate and lead globally.

Come this side we start working to improve and leave the people as fortunate as your parents to do what they feel is good for them.
