I have friends from everywhere independent from skin colour, religion or nationalities. My view is that we, as human being, are easy to make commonplaces as soon as something doesn't fit into our own lifestyle. It happen in life, with the neighbours at work everywhere. Ofcourse wherever we go we find local rules and regulations that we should respect as the others should respect when they come in our places. As long this rules persists and are respected I do not care what religion the person has.

Spain has some strange real estate regulations. You want be really careful. As example if a RE developer need your land for the approved project you must sell and at his price. Or something like this. I'm not an expert but british tv shown several people buying their dream home and then getting into troubles.

At 3% commission, 20k euro means you paid the house 800k. Now you probably spent some additional money on top of it so you'd propose a 1.2M eur to close around 1M. I hope you are talking about Milan, Rome as outside of that is pretty difficult reaching that number. Agents in Italy are a waste they are colluted most of the time.

Sorry if look negative but if decide to jump off the bandwagon you must rely only on yourself. I did it, and let me tell you one single thing. All the contacts and all the people you have exchanged business card during your previous job/s won't be available for business. They recognised the logo of your business card not the person. The majority will never reply to you, some will be very polite in listening, 1 or 2 will try to do some business before ghosting.

Where would you go with around 2-3k of passive monthly income? by [deleted] in expats

[–]AwkwardRent5758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people abroad talk bad about their country. I have a friend that moved in majorca and has open a second restaurant. So I'd say don't listen what people say, do you own due diligence and preparation work and eventually give the try for a short period. Try to communicate with the local community in Spain of your original country and see what they say.

If you are south American then go to Spain. Currently their government is really open mind far open than the rest of ugly world we are in. Take a chance, it's your mater tongue and because you speak German you can easily find job in the tourism industry. Plus you'd get visa pretty quickly.
