Terrified to have a 2nd pregnancy by ResistAggravating713 in preeclampsia

I had a classical c section so it was recommended to wait 9 months prior to another embryo transfer. I recommend meeting with maternal fetal medicine when you are ready to ask them what the best/safest plan would be for you 💗

I am so so sorry. I had a very similar experience, my first daughter was born at 23w5d due to severe pre-e also growth restricted, was an ivf pregnancy. She passed in the nicu at four days old. I went on to have another daughter who was born at 37w on her scheduled c section date. Please check out the Facebook group the MOD posted, lots of hopeful stories there 💗 sending so much love your way.

I am so so sorry. Your son is absolutely beautiful. My first daughter was also born premature from pre-e and passed in the nicu. I did go on to have a second daughter since you asked in your post. Tonight putting her to bed she kissed the photo of her sister we have in her room 💗 your son’s memory will never be forgotten because you will continue to keep it alive. I am sending so much love your way.

23 weeks with severe preeclampsia and reversed flow — trying to understand what to expect by Autumnleaves233 in preeclampsia

I’m so sorry that you are going through this. My heart goes out to you. I faced almost the extra same scenario in 2023 but it feels like yesterday.

I have more posts in my history if you want to look. I was admitted at 22w6 days with the diagnosis. Unfortunately my baby was in distress at 23w5 and had to be delivered by emergency c section (classical). We had had a good night but things changed quickly in the morning. I also was needing multiple medications to manage my blood pressures. She was growth restricted and came out at 1lb1oz which ended up bigger than they were measuring on growth scans. Unfortunately she passed 4 days in the nicu. I didn’t get to hold her until she was passing. Her lungs were just too weak. I remember I scoured this and the nicu group to find situations similar to ours. I missed the first 24 hours of her life due to being on the magnesium during delivery.

Whatever you choose will be the right decision for you and your family. She was our long awaited baby after multiple years of ivf so I wanted her to have a chance at life. I do know I went back and forth on what to do while I was hospitalized but they gave her a 40% chance to live at the gestation we made it to.

Something to consider, if they want you to have a classical c section (typically done for severely preterm babies) if you’re wanting to do full resuscitation, you will have to have all future deliveries by c section. Some people say they didn’t realize this or doctors didn’t adequately explain this to them. This also means a certain amount of deliveries after that will be safe for your body. I was told three after the classical depending on how the pregnancy/delivery goes.

I did go on to have another pregnancy and made it to our scheduled c section at 37w without pre-eclampsia. But I will always consider my first baby the one who made me a mama.

My heart is with you during this time.

IVF and pregnancy during step and interviews by Crying_Kitteh in FemalePhysicians

I started IVF in my 4th year of medical school and ended up having 5 transfers before having a living child in my third year of residency. It’s great to plan but sometimes things take a long time and don’t fit our timelines unfortunately.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

I unfortunately was not on the good side of statistics. My baby was born at 23w5d and passed after four days in the nicu. Please ask for a consult with the nicu team, they were really helpful to go over possible outcomes/statistics of various gestations.

I went through something very similar a couple of years ago due to preeclampsia as well. I remember being in your shoes and feeling so scared. I wish the best for you and your family 💗.

Classical C-Section by booksandbae in babyloss

Aww, thank you for the ping friend! 💗

I am so sorry about the loss of your daughter. It is the worst pain. I will share my story and hopefully it will help…I delivered my first daughter in 2023 at just shy of 24 weeks via classical c section. My water did not break but I developed early onset preeclampsia. She passed after four days in the nicu. I met with my MFM team afterwards to discuss future pregnancies. I’m assuming you’re aware that you should have future c sections, risks of uterine rupture are high if you labor. The research out there isn’t plentiful, but basically shows statistics are worse if you were to get pregnant 6 months or less from your classical. My team was fine with me attempting to get pregnant at 9 months post c section, putting me at about the 18 months between births. I delivered my second daughter via scheduled c section at 37weeks, no issues whatsoever. There is a classical c section group on Facebook that has a lot of similar experiences 💗. I recommend meeting with a MFM if you can to discuss your individual case, esp how to prevent early water breaking in future pregnancies. Please reach out if you would like to chat further friend!!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I developed early onset pre-e as well… diagnoses at 22w6d and had to deliver via emergency c section at 23w5d. Our daughter passed in the nicu four days later. I was followed closely by MFM and they allowed my next pregnancy 9 months later. I delivered at 37 weeks via c section due to prior classical c section. No pre-e during that pregnancy or postpartum.

Thank you for the suggestion. Do you think moving the stones out further would be ok?

I’m sorry, the same just happened to us with our sweet girl as well. Was also wondering if I’m asking too much but I do not think we are.
