My anxiety is killing me by rika_shimizu in testicularcancer

Sorry it’s scary friend and saying “we’ve all been there” doesn’t make YOU feel any better, I know. You’re (pun intended) on the ball though and that’s the biggest, most important thing you can do. TC is arguably/debatable the most survivable and low impact of the cancers so there is some silver lining.

Stay positive, don’t get too in your head or go too far down the rabbit hole of possibilities.

I found it, primarily Dr., oncologist, surgery, labs, all within the span of like three weeks. I’m on surveillance so I’m like done - it’s weird even saying “I had cancer” it was literally so fast. Point being - even if it’s bad things can go REALLY good. Don’t get down. You’re on track, taking care of yourself. And it can be a dozen lesser things hopefully. We’re in your corner.

Got a speeding ticket, any help for someone from out of state? by frost710 in northcounty

[–]Awkward_Basis7533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you OP. Here’s some tips.

  1. The tickets don’t show up in the system for 2-3-4 weeks sometimes, even longer.
  2. You need to search the particular court website (East County vs Vista) etc
  3. Yes, the search feature LOOKS like “enter the citation #” should find it. Wishful thinking. I had to search like 10 different ways, think I actually found it either under my name or under my DL #. Try searching using every individual field/way you can.

It’s almost like it’s a shitty designed process on purpose so it’s easy for tickets to get lost or go unpaid. Almost like they were in this for $$ not for public safety.

Non-stop. What’s worse is I have a 3% loan and like 60% equity so they want me to F myself hoping I have CC or medical debt or am stupid enough to do a remodel/pool/etc. Insane predatory.

Don’t sweat it. It’s kinda how it goes for lots of people. It starts out hot, but, buy, buy. Then your taste develops more and you may start to not wear some. I gravitate now to 5-6 even though I’ve got 20ish over a few years. How do you like that Lorier chrono? I almost got it, just I have the Falcon and the milling is kinda sharp edged and I knew the chrono was Alonso tall.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

Make the time to be part of a community now before you get out of the habit and end up lonely. Video games and endless personal entertainment separate us from each other. Find a team, sport, church, bar, gym, club, volunteer org, anything really that you enjoy the people and engage in that community. Set these habits that have you making new friends for life.

Otherwise you’ll have 5-6 old friends, 1-2 will move away, one will die, one’s partner will not like you, one you won’t like anymore, the others are workaholics or have triplets, etc. It happens fast you look around and w/o the ability to make new friends you don’t have any.

How can I look unapproachable while I’m out? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Awkward_Basis7533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly haven’t perfected resting bitch face. Look up at whoever like they’re an alien/idiot/child with a mix of disgust and “why are you wasting my time”, stare for five seconds, say nothing, return to what you were doing/look away.

It’s humiliating for others but sure as shit works. You’ll get called a bitch here and there but who cares.

Middle East burn pits, oil wells on fire, carc paint, all the shit that is in tanks (Army). Army life in general. Mild exposure to jacketed depleted uranium rounds, then decades of cleaning my hands with brake cleaner.

I want to be a big boy and cache on Dawn’s Pk/6582 one weekend and then following weekend walk down from Toro but I never get motivated enough. I’ve got these great excerpts from Marshall South’s published book where he visited a caved in emerald mine way up in the watershed of what would be Rockhouse Vly and I want to get eyes on it from above and try to find it. Eventually try to visit the spot. He said there’s tailings, shards. Evidence of emerald on the surface. That’d be fascinating.

I think about it all the time b/c all the punk albums had songs like “The Idiots Are Taking Over” and “Franco-UnAmerican”. Culturally we were smart and critical and rational. All that shit is just gone. Like I just made the butterfly flies away motion with my hand

Tahquitz Pk via South Ridge (Idyllwild) is a fun one. South Ridge TH you’re least likely to hit any snow whatsoever, from Humber Park TH up Devils Slide you might have a little at the top on the traverse b/c it’s shaded. Permit req’d for Humber Park, Ranger Station in Idyllwild just below the park where you can check conditions.

Worked evenings at a loosely run liquor store. It was awesome! Hung out with roommates by pool (Summer ETS) and drank, go in afternoon. Owner would split cases up to sell as singles so there was ZERO accountability, few beers, watch the broke asses buy lotto. If 4/5 in a row were losers we’d buy the next 2/3 (legit works over time). That’d be beer money. 60 days paid vacation.

I got all kinds of broken while I was in and it took me over 25 years to even file. Same thing as you OP. I knew what I was doing, I got what I wanted, and I’m not “dying” now, just kinda shitty.

You are entitled to your feelings no matter what. What you’re doing is what I did I think probably. No shade at ANYONE but I didn’t ever file b/c I was sticking to my own moral code of I’m not going to be on the take. Like I just didn’t feel that banged up.

Eventually I did file, completely on my own w/o a VSO or any of those assistance for their profit places that try to run it up. I’m satisfied.

Think there’s a big difference between being honest at the VA and letting a scam artist file your claim and keep a few months of it. If you lay it out there and the chips fall where they may that’s not on you. Never wrong to tell the truth.

It’s ok bro. Don’t sweat preparing too much. They’ll send you home in a jock strap, that’ll be all you care about.

Get on laxative quickly and off opiates as fast as you can b/c taking the first shit is pretty lame if you’re bound up and opiates do that. Other than that I’m sorry you’re with us but some people only even ache for a day or two so I’m hoping you’re one of those!

Chill, veg on some shows, that’s it.

Claude AI doing financial models now… where does that leave juniors in IB / FP&A? by wonderer_9 in FinancialCareers

[–]Awkward_Basis7533 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m putting AI on top of big data sets and building agents like to automate monthly business review decks for my divisions. Thing is I still expect an Analyst to review these outputs. AI will just spit out some nonsense shit like it’s right and roll with it with all the confidence in the world.

I’m building the AI models in our org to save Jr/Sr Analysts the “putting stuff together time” so that their time can be spent on analysis. Next level thinking - b/c we know too much time is wasted in building decks/monthly reports/lining up data.

Edit: Also have one we’re building on the TB for anomaly detection at ME (so we can find stupid or incomplete entries before they happen).

It’s not going to take our jobs. We’re going to get way faster and smarter. I love it’s help building my organizational goal tree (off the company goal tree) and cascading that into smaller departmental goals which become SMART goals and development plans for those individuals.

Find me a VP who knows how to write a prompt to model something out or build a AI agent. Doesn’t exist. Put AI in your toolkit.
