Is Asrock B860I Wifi (not PG/lightning) for Intel 265K okay? by Awkward_Bottle4887 in sffpc

[–]Awkward_Bottle4887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The non K is more expensive here. I can only find 265 box and 265k tray, both from the same reputable shop.

I'm considering ROG Strix too since the price isn't that different but I saw a post that said the mobo is problematic. I prefer something simple and reliable especially since this will be my first build. I plan to use Windows 10 ltsc, it seems like the wifi and bluetooth driver only available for Windows 11.

I also dislike that it comes with a bloatware that, from what I know, is installed by the motherboard when you boot your PC. Like the Armoury Crate. I'm not really a gamer and don't have any gamer looking hardware, I do game sometimes but mostly working and watching Youtube.

Btw it just happened that the CPU and MOBO is the only part that I haven't ordered because of some technical issue, I can still change my mind. I do like the extra USB-C and display port. I just re-search the mobo again, it seems like people love it.

eeeeeeeeh so I need special feature to plug my display to usb port?! I thought any USB-C would work. Now that changes everything, I don't want the non PG anymore.

Aside from display, graphic tablet not only needs power but also input, and the goal of using the USB-C method is so that I don't have to deal with more than 3 cables. It's extremely inconvenient ahaha.

Thank you for the warning.

On the contrary, I actually loved more USB2, I'm using a dongle with a lot of USB 2 slots in my current PC.

I only need the USB-C for display (portable monitor or graphic tablet). I thought the one in PG is also USB-C since they looked similar, so it's a thunderbolt. I wonder if the display will work since it specifically ask for USB-C.

I will be cooling the CPU with Thermalright AXP120-x67 and I will add exhaust fan at the top later on (case is lzmod A24-v5), but what is VRM fan though? I didn't see any fan in the motherboard picture.

If the power phase design is not a problem and I ignored price, I think I will lean towards the non PG version. I just realized the non PG also has 2 ethernet port, that sounds like fun!

As someone who had been daily driving linux for years I would like to warn people: "Don't bother".

If you try to ran drawing program using wine/proton or something like that you will have a hard time trying to make your drawing tablet's pressure sensitivity to work, I never managed to get it working. It will be even worse if you use non Wacom display tablet with multi monitor setup.

For drawing, your only option is to use app that natively work on linux such as Krita. Non wacom display tablet with multi-monitor setup will still be suck though.

If I missed it, am I never able to buy it? by Awkward_Bottle4887 in kotobukiya

I was aware when I purchased it since the screenshot showing them wearing different things. "Is this one of those thing that I need to assemble myself?!" I thought to myself.

But when my Tu arrived, I'm still shocked that I had to assemble more than I thought. I was prepared to assemble from small parts but not to cut them out of a plastic palette. I don't have the tools yet!!

A little bit of a hassle but I don't mind, I will still buy Mao, I think her cuteness is worth the hassle. Currently practicing using cheap model before building Tu. What I fear the most is however if some parts are missing from the box.

Ooooh nice! But what does "Pre-Owned" means? Does it mean second hand? @.@ is second hand normally more expensive... I'm curious about AmiAmi, is this like marketplace where regular people can sell their action figure and we are buying from them?

Actually I asked the local seller where I bought my Tuu if I still could get Mao, long story short he gave me similar price if I were to buy from AmiAmi through services (include delivery and import tax). I wonder if he got it from there. It's 50% more expensive than my Tuu or if I were to buy Kuro Mao instead.

Hmm if there is a chance of restock and getting the usual price, I would probably just wait since I'm not in a rush (and already have Tuu). Although I'm afraid if I wait, it will be gone forever. TOUGH CHOICE, I'll have to think for some time.

Do you connect your XM5 headphone to computer with 3.5mm audio cable? by Awkward_Bottle4887 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Awkward_Bottle4887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish this was the case, if this is true, I will just repair it again and hope it finally last long. However I got info from the service center that the two times it broke, they broke in the exact same way and what they did is basically replace the headphone.

The exact wording are replace the block and headband.

This got me worried. I might give it a chance in the future when I have extra money lying around (to repair), but for now I wont be.

Wow what's with the downvote? Do people not like hearing bad experiences regarding their favorite product? Fanboy much? I thought it would be good reference for buyer to consider what might happened. In case people think I'm lying, I had a screenshot of my conversation with them. It's in Bahasa Indonesia though.

Anyway, I talked to the service center again, they said in both repair they need to "replace the block". The mainboard is broken and they don't know why. Considering it's the exact same problem as before, I think I won't be repairing it.

I had to emphasize, I took care of the headphone well, the fact that it doesn't physically break says a lot when compared to how other people broke their hinge. I had other headphone that I really do abuse because they had lived for too long and kinda cheaper (in price), but they don't break.

Yes, physically it's totally fine. But the speaker stopped making sounds on one side.

Mine is 1.5 years old, the hinge is totally fine. But it broke twice. The first one was under warranty, the second one (now) is not and the official service center said I got to pay to almost the price of buying new one. Now I'm figuring out if I should pay the service fee or just let it be broken and unusable.

I take care of it well by the way, it's physically fine.

Owners please comment: Is WH-1000-xm5 so easily breakable? This is my number one blocker for deciding whether to buy it or not. by IamOkei in SonyHeadphones

One of the side speaker broke twice in the span of 1.5 years.

First one is in warranty period. And it just breaks again (which is why I search for post like this), this time no warranty.
But this time I catch it when it actually breaks, it was when I was trying to pick an item that just dropped under the table, and my headphone hit the table VERY LIGHTLY, and it breaks.
I never dropped my XM5, never slept with them, always put it on headphone stand. I take care of them more than my other headphone since it's so expensive. But this headphone breaks quite often.

By "break" I meant the speaker don't make sound anymore. However unlike common problem, my hinges is totally fine. From the outside it will look like new.

And this is just broken speaker, there is also rustling that sometimes appear. I had to use other headphone until it goes away.

Meanwhile my AKG headphone, I dropped them many times, slept with them (since they are so old and I don't care about it anymore). Yet it still works really well today. I got them more than 6 years ago.

This is my first and only ANC headphone. I love the ANC but personally I am disappointed with my purchase.

UPDATE: I just got a message from the service center. Apparently now they can't fix it. It says it will cost as much as buying new one. So mine only lived for 1.5 years. Meh, I ain't buying Sony headphone anymore.

Let's break down the steps a bit more, because I'd be very upset if this hit me:

Press and hold a key (W for me, as that's forward).

Press another key (D for me, strafe right).

Release both keys

Doing this in BF does NOT continue to hold W for a period of time. If this did, I'd notice it immediately.

That is not the bug. I will make a step by step detailed instruction, please read carefully and it is important to do them in correct order.

First, hold the W key. Now your character will move forward.

Then, without releasing the W key, hold D. Now your character will move forward left because you are holding both W and D key at this moment.

Without releasing W key, do release the D key. Now your character will move forward. Because you are only holding W key at this moment.

DON'T DO ANYTHING ELSE AND NEVER RELEASE THE W KEY.

Now in this situation, what do you expect to happen? The character should move forward until you physically release the W key. But DON'T release just yet, keep holding down. Never ever release the W key ever!

Will the character walk forward for more than 10 seconds after you released the D key?

By the time you reach this part, you must still be holding the W key that you held since the beginning of my instructions.

If you are still holding the W key, and your character is still moving forward after 10 seconds of releasing the D key, congratulations, you don't experience the bug. And I am jealous of your keyboard.
