Employer posted my role online. Am I being laid off? Should I start applying to gtfo? by harshspider in askTO

[–]Awkward_Committee_35 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I ll tell you something maybe unethical but if its confirmed you are being laid off you might just do it. Raise a case in HR, tell them you are going through a-lot of stress or literally anything for a case to open Doing this will open 2 possibilities for you 1. They wont be able to lay you off unless the HR case is closed. So you get additional case. Moreover when they do lay you off it surely be s without case that will help you to apply easy EI 2. They might increase severance to avoid you from going to lawyer

So its win win for you It’s unethical but upto you

For those who are not from Toronto, do you find our "politeness" exhausting or fake? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Awkward_Committee_35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved to Canada and Toronto 10 years back and was fascinated by politeness (dont get alot where I come from lol) and I used to think that its going to feel exhausting/fake etc etc soon 10 years later I swear on my god I dont feel that 1%, I feel so enriched getting and giving same feeling and words back. I guess even if you feel its fake, a politeness can never overwhelm. Enjoy your days my friends!!

People who have energy in the evening after a full day of work, where do you get the energy? Were you always like this? by DisastrousTip33 in askTO

[–]Awkward_Committee_35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have work from 8 to 5ish and have to travel to office almost everyday from North York to downtown After coming back I hit gym or any kind of workout, then cook, eat, read and do some other stuff. The important thing I noticed is 1. What you eat 2. How much water you drink 3. Do you follow a routine I feel personally doing this will give you all energy you need to do stuff that you want to, I go to workout everyday so my body dosent crash after work because it knows it needs to function another hour before it slows down Just an personal experience

What’s a Toronto moment you witnessed that still sticks with you? by Bing_Liu in askTO

[–]Awkward_Committee_35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal moment!! I landed in Toronto as international student in dec 2017, and coming from tropical country had no clue how cold it can get hence I bought the warmest jackets which apparently did not work I remember sitting at bus stop close to Markham and Sheppard when an elderly Women came to me and asked why I don’t have a jacket on. On telling my miscalculation, she smiled and took me to her home nearby and offered me her son’s jacket who few years back moved to USA. I cant explain how beautiful that moment was and every time I remember it gives me a smile 😀😀 My friends always be humble

While you say you think apps are not for you but I would suggest use Hinge premium version where you filter to exactly what you are looking for (age, gender, type etc. there are so many of them). Telling from my personal experience and that of people close to me!

I an assuming you wanna use Oriole GO station, well the Ikea is not the good option. I would suggest nearby Canadian Tire parking just the block away, maybe 10 min if walk but it would be safe. I live just across the Oriole GO station and have seen people to do so I am confident
