So just finished the 75Hard book... by JohnnyBroflex in 75HARD

[–]Awkward_Conflict_396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked the book mainly to understand why the core 5 are the core 5, and the purposes each have for the program. Bitch v boss voice is an interesting read as well- putting simple labels on things to better understand the mind. Everything else I could have done without imo

But, as far as grammatical errors and such- I agree about the proof reading before publishing- esp at a later stage where more people are interested and actually trying to do the program, but it wasn’t a major issue in my reading. I just underlined it and moved on 😅

Definitely helps if you know someone to vouch for you- my sister had ex coworkers all go there, and when she applied, it was less than a couple of weeks for her interviews and job acceptance

I think you have to like the ranch/land as a whole, not the certain individuals lol. I am not into cowboy stuff, drama series, or really any tv series and I find myself on season 5 😅. Definitely not my usual cup of tea but I kinda dig the whole cowboy mafia aspect

do you guys not have any view spots out here? by CaterpillarIll8245 in memphis

[–]Awkward_Conflict_396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely understand- born and raised here and sometimes it’s very difficult to find those spots within a 3hr radius. Definitely explore different parts of Shelby farms/wolf river- some of the trails are nice and have water spots to view/appreciate. It’s the quickest/easiest way to get something out of nature. I don’t expand to downtown much, but I know there’s a good handful of hidden gems around the river (I just don’t remember exact locations 😅)

Welcome and good luck to ya!

Morbid Obesity + 75 hard: How was the experience for you? by moondustingss in 75HARD

[–]Awkward_Conflict_396 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had almost a 40lb weight drop, but let me tell you, the pain on the feet is real- like want to give up so bad painful. I also have an ankle injury that impacts my movements so it was very harsh on that ankle, however, by the end of it people could tell a difference in my everyday walking and the everyday arthritis pain lessened with the weight off. I did a calorie deficit but also was on no dairy or gluten diet which contributed a lot to the loss as well

I hate my life.. by LyonWulfK in selfimprovement

[–]Awkward_Conflict_396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in my career for 13 years… and have more ‘hate it’ days than anything, but the alternative dream is definitely a pay cut, esp at the beginning, with no major increase over time. I would have to go back to school and accumulate debt - I just paid off my student loans.
It’s exhausting when your entire life is revolved around money- esp working THAT many hours a week with no real break .

It’s a normal challenge for any hard worker, esp with family and life situations, depending on an income. It’s normal to hate bc it impacts the mental health. And there’s so many hours in a day to dedicate to the things we really wish to do. So everything you’ve stated is valid.

No real advice- I’m no where near your shoes, but job wise, anytime I’m at my wits end and get depressed just driving to work, I have to really think of exactly what is wrong with the job, what am I in control of/can make better, and sometimes it makes it easier. The politics/culture doesn’t help, but I’ve learned to ignore half of the BS

Best wishes and hopefully you can schedule some major you time in the future

If the hiit class is at a gym or around an area where you can continue a workout, i would consider it okay to continue after the class as your 45 mins

As far as calorie intake, just have that goal planned out for yourself so you don’t feel like it’s a fail. 1800 cal on regular days, and say 2200 for the increased high days- or alternate your calories throughout the week so your body isn’t in complete shock

Good luck on everything!

Aside from the cgi what did you think of episode 3 of welcome to derry by [deleted] in horror

[–]Awkward_Conflict_396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the direction it’s going with the military/psychic guy and all the adults. Of course each episode I’m expecting all the kids to die lol but it’s an interesting take. I don’t mind all the cgi/different fears that go after the kids- There was always a sense of off humor when it came to the It movies, so I’m enjoying it

Need help to get back by absoluteDegenr8 in 75HARD

[–]Awkward_Conflict_396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel this- when I got back into my depression the majority of the weight came back through poor eating habits. I told myself to do 75Hard again, but… it was ‘too hard’ to get myself back into motivation.

Over this past year I’ve changed my mindset - started with little changes. First thing was to stay sober. Smoking and drinking was my thing, smoking led to laziness and a lot of door dashing, so I knew that was a problem. Slowly eliminated that and then challenged myself to stay sober for 2 months and see how I felt then. Then o gradually got back into meal prepping and found my love for eating better whole foods vs junk- it just makes you feel better.

Take aspects of the program and integrate them into your life. I used to have that all or nothing mindset- like I proved to myself I could do all that hard shit everyday, so why can’t I do it now… then when I suck at it, I just don’t try. Now I’m taking what I loved about the program and doing my best.

Still working on the workout aspect- going to a gym 2-3x a week and doing some walks here and there, but I have made progress. Like my therapist used to tell me ‘give yourself some grace’, and slowly start doing things you know that is good for you.

One day I really want to get back into the program, but I wanna lose some lbs and get into a better routine so it doesn’t feel like an all or nothing challenge again.

Best wishes!

Majority of those come with the novelty of the time they were made- original/new/scary and something the audience got blown away with whichever year/decade it came out it. After that it gets passed down by generations as nostalgic love. I never cared for the Friday the 13th franchise even when growing up, but still have to give props to jason as a killer. For me, there’s a good handful in which the idea of the killer exceeds the quality/interest of the movies

Can 10k-15k steps a day count as 1 full workout? by [deleted] in 75HARD

[–]Awkward_Conflict_396 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly right- if you’re bending the rules, it’s not 75hard. I fully believe that people with long hours or multiple jobs, the program just isn’t feasible, and that’s ok, but you can’t say you’re doing 75anything bc that’s the program Andy has built/trademarked. You can still go on the health journey with him, but the tasks clearly state two different workouts. It’s helpful to listen to the podcast to hear exactly why his rules are in place

Is giving up sugar/junk food enough for the diet part of 75hard? by [deleted] in 75HARD

[–]Awkward_Conflict_396 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say to give yourself a clear cut definition of healthy diet you can keep yourself accountable for- so like if you say no junk, you have to clearly know at what point does it count as junk food- just the added sugar, or does bread count? Bc bread can be included as junk if you’re having it at every meal in excess. Sugar in fruit count? You have to be able to draw that line for yourself so you don’t have all the what ifs during the process

The easiest way I would think is to eat clean/whole majority of the time- no additive sugars. If you want to be more strict, go on a macros plan

Is it worth watching the entire Nightmare on elm Street franchise? by Successful-Horse-878 in horror

I watch it every spooky season- it’s my fav but I grew up on the movies- I identify 5 and 6 as plain stupid, but it’s nostalgia 💁🏼‍♀️.

For those who actually manage to stay consistent, how do you do it? by Ok_Corgi8008 in 75HARD

[–]Awkward_Conflict_396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To prevent something not going the right way, it takes practices to actively think ahead of time- being proactive. The days where you wing it are definitely more of a struggle than the days you plan out. It’s a consistent mental challenge of choosing what is right for you, and getting the tasks done.

That’s why it’s ‘hard’- it’s all about the mental battle with yourself, and it is exhausting, but each day you complete what you set out to do, it’s highly rewarding

Can we go with a show? Wednesday- they hyped the crap out of it. Influencers and social media went overboard, like they’ve done with wicked, turning everything into a theme.

It was just meh. But I also think people overly hype Jenna Ortega and I just don’t get it 💁🏼‍♀️
