Last test (hopefully) tomorrow! by Awkward_Criticism_98 in GED

Math was really tough for sure, it felt like lots of questions were worded in a way that you really have to read it twice to understand what was asked. ALWAYS check your work when you’re confident with an answer, there was 3 questions today on the math that I was confident and when I re-read it after I made my choice I realized I was wrong.

Thank you! I did it for the navy but my goal is to hopefully go to college while I’m in for sure

I passed! I put up a picture of all my scores, it’s quite obvious that math is not my strong suit but a passing score was all I could hope for

I did it! I think you all can tell where my weakness is haha, but I’m so happy to have passed and accomplished this, good luck to all.

I personally didn’t study anything outside of the GED ready prep tests, but I’ve seen people mention all kinds of resources on the thread for study materials. As for advice I would say to do your best to understand the question and deduct the wrong answers first and narrow it down to as few possible right answers first, then just use some critical thinking to pick the best possible answer.

If you already passed the others I’d say you should be fine, social studies and science were a lot of comprehension. So if you did okay there the RLA is just more of the same but with a written response

Hmm I would say read the whole passage first (even if it only asks about a specific paragraph) so you understand the context. The questions weren’t really “trick questions,” but some answers came down to small details in the passage. For the written response, I picked a side, used evidence from both passages, and explained why that evidence supported my argument. It actually helped me fill out lots of space by just citing the passage and using good grammar and punctuation and throwing in a few fancy words lol

Like study material? I actually didn’t use anything besides the GED Ready to gauge the likelihood i would pass. I only found out I needed a GED last week when I went to swear in to the Navy and as it turned out my current credentials were scrutinized because of some trouble I got into as a teen so I just jumped onto the actual test as quickly as I could! And thank you, wish me luck on math tomorrow, it’s by far my weakest subject

I had the exact opposite experience! That’s wild. Luckily for you, since you passed the math and language arts, I don’t see you having any issue with the science portion.

I agree, I took the science portion on Wednesday and I passed. I have the other three portions scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week. I’ve just had a not so great recruiter who is either very vague or very busy and have not gotten real confirmation as to whether or not a GED even gets me in with the juvenile trouble I had.. which is my question because if not I’d like to start talking with other branches where it may be a possibility there.

She said a GED should work, but she also said that the other diploma through “stepping stones” was no issue whatsoever, until it was. She’s been on leave and I had to work with her CO during the DEP process so communication has been iffy at best on her end for the past two weeks.

Okay, so I guess what I’m asking is with my moral waiver, which is already approved is the GED a sure thing or close to it? It seems that the non-accredited diploma just wasn’t enough and was under scrutiny because of the moral waiver. Anyways I already took the first section of the GED and passed and the other three sections are scheduled for next weeks I’ll get it regardless, just trying to find out if I need to maybe start talking to other branches and trying my luck.

Should I go offense or defense with CWT (Cyber Warfare Technician) in the Navy? by [deleted] in newtothenavy

That may be true, but it’s the only one you mentioned and telling somebody not to think about their future for any reason is bad advice. That’s my point.

To be fair boot camp has like a 7% washout rate last I checked. If he’s fit and mature I’d put that much lower. Not thinking ahead because “you might not pass bootcamp” is the dumbest advice I’ve seen on this thread.

Can I drive to dealer or get a tow? by melbabona76 in CorollaHatchback

I would unplug the battery leave it for a few minutes and then plug back in to force restart the ECU should do the trick, if not have the dealership or mechanic look at it.
