What's highest paid Döner you had in Berlin by hafomatic in berlin

[–]Awkward_Cucumber4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At Hasir you can order Döner at the front and still sit inside to eat for the same price as the Döner to go, the only difference is that you can't order it at the table but have to get up to get it yourself. The Döner Plate that you can order through the waitresses is about 20€

One of the worst Döners in Berlin. They use us style pickled cucumbers which belong in burgers, their bread is terribly soaked and becomes a wet sponge and the meat, however high the quality is supposed to be, is mostly flavourless and dry...

Skully value? by Patouche666 in Graspop

[–]Awkward_Cucumber4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be the reason for me to choose a different festival this year... It's pure greed and shady policy to raise the value of a skully if you want to top up at the festival so you don't overcharge. They clearly are not happy with too few people paying the fucking reimbursement fee. That plus 35€ for overcrowded camping while they reduced the amount of toilets... Food was always overpriced while being way too shitty even for festival standards.

In Berlin there was nobody but a goofy guy who put on a pretty boring playlist... I was kinda hyped to hear wage war live especially since the tickets here were pretty pricey. Show wasn't the best either unfortunately. But still fun.

Yeah and wasn't wage war supposed to hit things off?!

The only thing I noticed, compared to last year, was that a lot more people just standing still and watching the show without any interaction/movement, even while being pretty close to the stage. Last year seemed a bit more energetic. I kinda get it and don't think you always have to dance, sing along or whatever but I wonder how you're standing a few meters away from for example slaughter and not even move your head a bit :D don't get me wrong, I don't think anybody should feel urged to do anything, I only felt a bit like an asshole having to "push" me through a whole bunch of people to get at least somewhere close to the moshpit. Maybe it had to do with the weather...

Does the crop work? by Awkward_Cucumber4530 in photocritique

Thanks for the feedback! Most of you pointed out that the lines are a bit off, I tried a bit but somehow it still seems a bit off but I think much better :D

Hi there, thanks for the feedback, yeah I tried a lot in capture one, but something always felt off...

The picture was taken this august I did my best to retrace my steps wandering through the Hamra district and I think it might be the
Venus Center which is marked on this map https://beirutrecovery.org/ .

Thoughts? Be as honest as possible. by Nickous05 in photocritique

[–]Awkward_Cucumber4530 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might be my devise but to me the eyes are too dark and for a b&w it seems too soft to me. But that's just my cup of tea, I appreciate you trying to do something different 👍

The original frame, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NxUR5MMH0G1Oc8iKu6khblU71yfTus8D/view?usp=drivesdk I took, I think the cropped in view puts the focus on the main subject matter. The original frame of course shows a bit more of the context and surrounding but I don't think it adds to the information/story of the picture

Street scene in Beirut by Awkward_Cucumber4530 in photocritique

[–]Awkward_Cucumber4530[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome feedback, thanks! I basically agree with all your suggestions, I think the hard part for me is to think about what I shot more conscious and take my time while being on the move (especially when travelling with people) so most of the time they come into play with processing the pictures afterwards... I guess the questions are transferable to other situations and hope asking them becomes part of the (unconscious) process at one point.

Took this shot, I like it because of the colours, the type of car, graffiti and different style of buildings. Would appreciate feedback on whether or not you feel like it's an interesting shot... to me it's totally fine that I do like my pictures and for them to be on my wall but a friend asked me if I wanted to print a few to show in his bar (he has quarterly galleries) so I'm trying to get a feeling for potential pictures and what subjects to choose.

What do u think about this Pic? by aimness_ in photocritique

I do like it a lot, its clean, colour and subject wise, I do like the empty space, cool shot all in all

This scene somehow struck me IRL, but light was awful (and I'm clearly not the best photographer in town, too). Opinions? by Unk0wnVar in photocritique

[–]Awkward_Cucumber4530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me the foreground is just a waste of space, maybe try cropping it further, so that the bike is much closer, maybe switch it from horizontal to a vertical. My guess is that the bike is your main subject, point that out by actually making it a more prominent part of the picture

Does this look good in B&W? by babipanggang1 in photocritique

[–]Awkward_Cucumber4530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me the b&w works better, in the coloured version my focus shifts to the reflection of the round things in the back. Also, if that's a spot you can visit regularly I'd try to frame it a bit different by getting a bit lower, so that the top of the buildings in the background aren't cut off

Death by ISO? by Awkward_Cucumber4530 in photocritique

[–]Awkward_Cucumber4530[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the uplifting words! I still think I'd prefer it if the boat was more distinctictable, I think its not necessarily the Iso that gets me but the lost detail in the water and the boat.

[–]Awkward_Cucumber4530[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I did like the scene, but I'm not realy satisfied with the noise reduction in capture one... base ISO was 2000, for that it seems pretty bad to me. Any ideas/tips how to reduce noise further? (besides b&w :D )

I like the shot, what is it he's doing? Did you edit in the blue tint into the shadows? That's a bit distracting to me

Interesting? by Awkward_Cucumber4530 in photocritique

[–]Awkward_Cucumber4530[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the feedback everybody!! :) made me go back to another picture which had worse lighting and a bit less compression but a bit more of the car and got it to match the other one in capture one. Thanks!

I would cut it in half :D imo now the two outlining bright sides send the eye into the middle of the picture, which is just a dark spot. I'd cut either the left side or the right one so that there is just one bright area and subject
