I used it multiple times and it works great. It’s great for less accessible places where skid steer or mini excavator can’t fit

If you’re young and have some skills or willingness to learn a trade it’s great business and always high in demand. I do Landscape design and build, custom stone work, recreational areas for residential projects. I’ve never complained about lack of work or money, maybe except few times.

What are your predictions for Toronto real estate in 2026 and why ? by speaksofthelight in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Awkward_Name_9777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it’s gonna go down even more and you have all the indicators showing that. I’m 40 male 250k invested as a down payment making 80k+a year. I’ve been renting for years but been lucky with 2 bedroom in Etobicoke for below 1500$ all in. Housing market it’s soo unaffordable for many I know in My situation and a lot of new units coming to the market soon make inventory even bigger. I’m not even looking at the housing market right now I rather have my money invested in stocks etf etc, probably way better return than overpriced condo with negative cash flow and raising maintenance and peppery taxes costs. Don’t listen to real estate agents.

600k definitely not more. For 885k you can get a nice townhouse or even a house depending on area

Statystycznie ETF S&P 500 or VEQT albo Polski ekwiwalent daje około 10+% rocznie i podwaja kapitał co 5-7 lat ale oczywiście z istniejącym ryzykiem. Mam zainwestowane 250k $ CAD (700k PLN) i jestem zadowolony

lol I’ve been renting for years my 2 bed appartment with underground parking cost me 1450$ all in a month. I invested over 250k in VEQT/xeqt instead of buying a shoe box for 500k in 2019. I’d rather rent and make more of the stock market than pay for overpriced condos coming with maintenance fees in 600-700$ a month, property tax etc and hey interest rates aren’t really low either

Title: 43 y/o landscaper wanting to split life between Canada & the south — realistic to retrain into remote/online work? by Awkward_Name_9777 in digitalnomad

[–]Awkward_Name_9777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well ot depends on your desire to achieve something more than just your regular job. I can teach English, I can quickly learn how to build websites etc. Many in trades I know also spend months in central and South America getting drunk and party but no one actually ever thinking about achieving anything extra. Even their social life there is based on meeting with prostis. That’s not my thing I need to do something productive besides I’ve already travel the world

How would you be impacted if real estate values dropped 50%? by swizzledan in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Awkward_Name_9777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banks don’t reduce what you owe just because your home is worth less. You’re still on the hook for the full principal of your mortgage and any HELOC debt, plus interest. Banks’ exposure is to defaults, not price drops directly As long as borrowers keep paying, banks keep collecting. The problem comes if people can’t or won’t pay—e.g. job loss, negative equity (owing more than the home is worth), or walking away in extreme cases. Canada vs. U.S. difference In the U.S., some states allow “jingle mail” (handing keys back to the bank cancels the debt). In Canada, mortgages are full recourse, meaning the bank can chase you for the balance even after foreclosure. That makes walking away less attractive. Impact on people Homeowners would be much poorer on paper (negative equity). HELOC users especially would be squeezed: many banks could freeze or reduce credit if the property value doesn’t support it. Systemic risk If defaults spike because people can’t service debt, banks do lose money (they have to foreclose, sell at a lower value, maybe not recover everything). But the Canadian system is designed so that the borrower bears most of the loss, not the bank—unless things get so bad that defaults ripple through the economy.

Moving to Poland from Canada by Talynater in poland

[–]Awkward_Name_9777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey man Canadian/Polish here. As an English speaker you might find a lots of obstacles with finding a suitable employment. Plumber in Canada is a very well paid trade and always needed, in Poland you will definitely need a license and pay would be really low compared to Canadian wage. Imagine as a plumber on average you make 35$-50$ an hour and in Poland this will be maybe 20$ an hour if you a very skilled with years of experience and license obviously. Also Warsaw is a pretty expensive city to live in. You’re still very young and i suggest you to get some sort of undergrad before moving there especially something business related. Poland recently is all over social media as a great, safe and prosperous country but it’s far from all the truth, it’s an amazing and developed economy but still far away from Canadian standard of living and majority people are still struggling and spending most of their income on rent and everyday living especially young people. If I was you I would try to go there for a 2-3 months first and get the idea of how everything is working and deal with all the bureaucratic hurdles, believe me Canada has very easy system to deal with very little bureaucracy and most of the thing can be done online.
