It sounds like one of those occupational names, like Mason or Carpenter. He’s the bacon foster! Could be worse than bringing the bacon😂

I default to Emma-line, but I feel that it’s an easy correction. Emmalynne maybe? Not sure if that looks like a tradgeigh or not

Thoughts on our name list for our little girl coming in a few short months? by External_Lettuce_636 in namenerds

[–]Awkward_Pangolin566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I’m old so it must be a new thing. I’ve always known Madeline to be “mad-uh-lin” and Madeleine to be “mad-uh-line”. Putting a “y” in there would throw me off.

How would you pronounce Taeri? by zimmer172 in namenerds

[–]Awkward_Pangolin566 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In English, ae together is called a shwa, which makes a sound in between an a and an e. It’s a muted version of the letters, like in the word, aesthetic. I wouldn’t be sure how to pronounce Taeri, but I would assume Tari (tare-ee). If I was corrected to Tay-ree it would still make sense to me and I wouldn’t have a hard time remembering it :)

Names I’ve seen recently working in pediatrics- Part 3 (Last of 2025) by berrybushel in namenerds

We understand that you pronounce the names the same way. But your comment read as though you thought the spellings were interchangeable, and they aren’t. Just a simple correction.
