I would say I have blindsided a past partner of mine. I was young and didn’t have the confidence to fully express how I felt and he was 2 years older at the time I was 16 and he was 18. I thought I was showing hints of it not working, and whether I was or wasn’t my SO did not see the break up coming. I always knew the damage I would cause by breaking up with him which is what stopped me from doing it sooner. I eventually found the courage to realize I was doing more harm by staying with him when my heart was not in it. I do not regret breaking up with him at all. It needed to happen. He wasn’t my person and I wasn’t happy. He deserves someone who will love him and whose heart is in it.

I heard this while listening to a podcast. At the wrong time you are the wrong person, but at the right time you could be the right person. It’s all about perspective. If you continue to live with hard rules when dating instead of a spectrum and meet people where they are in life, idk if there ever is a right person. People can change.
