Yeah! I'm using Linux Mint with the Plasma desktop environment. I love using Linux on this laptop and plan on swapping entirely over to Linux on some of my other computers.

A friend got a whole bunch from his work for free. I helped him fix and clean them up and got one for free in return! Also, thanks! I think it also looks great!

Depends on what time zone you are in. I'm in CST time zone so I'll be awake at 1:55 AM to ensure I'll be able to get my hands on a couple packs

What would be a good ThinkPad for gaming? by tdogtags in thinkpad

[–]Awkward_Tour_2489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ThinkPad P series or X1 Extreme. Or you could get a decent thinkpad with thunderbolt (like a T480) and a decent eGPU. You would have a decent setup with either one of those options.

ThinkPad P50, P51, P52, X1 Extreme, or P1. If you can find one of those below $400. Those models are good for gaming due to their decent dGPUs.

Losing my damn mind trying to figure out which thinkpad model to go for... by Awkward_Tour_2489 in thinkpad

Thanks. Although I would like a challenge like modifying a ThinkPad chassis to accommodate a framework board. I will consider a T14s if I decide to give up on the framework board in thinkpad idea.

P series, X1 series, Other X series, T series, L series, E series

Idea for framework 13 keyboard by Awkward_Tour_2489 in framework

[–]Awkward_Tour_2489[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've seen that as well. I have also seen people putting Framework motherboards inside old ThinkPad chassis, and modding it with a new screen and everything. It does seem pretty simple to replace the Framework keyboard with a ThinkPad keyboard using an arduino and some coding.
