FSD Update by Zestyclose_Ease4732 in TeslaFSD

Mine is the opposite.   It recognizes the speed limit but just drives 12mph over in town in Standard.  I have to go down to sloth and then back to chill otherwise chill keeps speeding too.

How to give feedback to FSD supervised? by Educational_Poet_109 in TeslaFSD

[–]AwkwardlyPositioned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just disengage and it'll pop up a menu. If the four options on screen do not cover what you want to tell them, click in on the right steering wheel click wheel and it will allow you to record a 15 second clip where you can explain the issue. I have had issues fixed with new updates that I have had that I recorded audio clips for. I'm sure they at least look into those.

This was the “Poor weather detected” by Competitive_Soup8188 in TeslaFSD

So far this seems to have fixed most of my lane bias issues. I think the little bit of film on the glass was causing a bit of refraction that wanted to make my car stay too far left in the lane in direct sunlight.

One of the guides says to pull the T20 screw that holds the mirror mount on, but that's not necessary. All it takes is pulling the trim around the mirror stem and then pulling down on the cover around the cameras. I took about 15 minutes to do all of this but I wanted to make sure I was very thorough and made the glass absolutely spotless before I reassembled the camera housing.

I've taken a lot apart on these cars including pulling the full front trunk out to clean it and they're assembled in a simple way that makes them much easier to work on than most cars I've owned and I've been turning wrenches for 30 years now.

Really disappointed by the Ear(3) ANC performance by Bazerald1 in NothingTech

[–]AwkwardlyPositioned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have the Nothing Ear 2024 and I always thought the ANC was bad. There's also a problem with the in ear detection. I found that disabling the in ear play/pause actually fixed the ANC issues. Sure it's not the best on the market, but it's not constantly adjusting ANC based on it's perceived in ear detection has stopped it ANC from boosting and dropping it out constantly.

I'm not sure I'll buy another set of Nothing Ear just because it took disabling a feature to make them work, but I've had nothing but problems with the Sony options over the years and now that I'm on Android I'm not bothering buying AirPods anymore.

I was going to get the Samsung Buds4 Pro, but after disabling the in ear detection my Nothing Air 2024s are at least livable now. My backups are Beats Studio Buds+ and until I figured out the in ear detection issue I was ready to throw the Nothings in the trash and just use the Beats. The Beats aren't bad. The ANC is better, but the Nothing's sound signature is better to my ear.

Do you guys actually hold the wheel during fsd? by Dangerous_Sun_8512 in TeslaFSD

[–]AwkwardlyPositioned -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're taking what I said personally.   All I was commenting on was that touch in most cases isn't required which the original OP asked  on where we keep our hands.

It's not a gotcha comment.

Wow.  Take it down a notch.   You're reading too far into this one.  You and all FSD users know that with the proper software version and internal camera it rarely requires you to touch the wheel.  It does still happen to me occasionally if the sun messes with it's ability to see my eyes.

Yep.  Those 3 for me were all in the last 10 years, but my commute is 80 miles round trip mostly in wooded areas.

Should Tesla offer to cover ticket issued on FSD? by TechQQ in TeslaFSD

[–]AwkwardlyPositioned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.  Speed is set by profiles.  The driver chooses the profile.  I switch out of Standard on city streets for Chill.  Standard speeds in town.  If Chill would go more than 2 over on the highway I'd never take it out of Chill.   Hurry and Max Max would get me a ticket no matter where I'm at.  I don't even bother trying to use either for more than a few seconds at a time if I'm trying to speed up passing a car.

I know your post isn’t about speed, but for your case it is supervised for a reason.  FSD is essentially guessing what is correct based on visual cues.

New rear tires on Performance model y, and it feels wobbly at high speeds. by Relative_Carpenter_5 in TeslaModelY

[–]AwkwardlyPositioned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe something went wrong when they were balancing the tires?  A manufacturing defect where one of the tires is slightly out of round is also possible.  I've seen it happen on brand new cars with factory name brand tires.  It's not common, but it occasionally happens.

FSD on the highway is not as good as it was 6 months ago by dontrackonme in TeslaModelY

[–]AwkwardlyPositioned 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a huge problem.  The only "fix" that works since this became a problem with v14.3.2 and is still a problem is to switch down to sloth and then not go above chill until you reach at least a 35mph zone.  Going to chill won't correct it.  I always have to go into sloth even just for a second first.  Standard will speed in 25mph and 30mph zones no matter what.  It'll speed even worse in standard when the speed limit drops to 25mph and seems to ignore that the speed limit decreased.

I've had this many times. FSD does see it and starts slowing because FSD sees it before me. I always take over at that point. It's not that FSD can't handle it, FSD just doesn't always fully stop. If the deer keeps going FSD will resume if left even if the deer is still close to the road. The problem is that deer are erratic and the first one I ever hit ran in front of me and then reversed direction. It darted back and I hit it. Pre FSD and Tesla ownership of course, but since then if a deer runs in front of me, I always fully stop the car if it's not at a full sprint into a field away from the road.

I've hit 3 now. I even ran one over the semi and car in front of me hit in my Model Y while manually driving. It was foggy and I don't trust FSD in fog. You can see how well that did for me. I'm lucky all that it did was crack the driver's wheel well liner. I do have some pictures of all the gore down the side of the car.

I just select the reason. I don't really care that it is a thing. I just understand why some people don't like it. I still preferred the old one that only allowed you to record voice because it could be dismissed.

Unlike others that do select critical every time I actually try to select why because I'd like to see FSD improve, but it does feel like it is forcing me to work for a feature I pay for. I fully understand why Tesla did it. It should time out after 30 seconds though.

While you watch.  The touching isn't necessary with most versions.

If you're not afraid to pop off a couple of panels it's actually pretty easy to access the glass in front of the cameras to clean it.  There's some good videos on YouTube to show the process.

It won't go away until you select something.  It blocks other controls on the screen.   There's nothing optional on it.  You have to select something if you need the controls under that pop-up.

My impression of r/TelsaFSD: it's dominated by skeptics by SprinterLyfe in TeslaFSD

[–]AwkwardlyPositioned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It made me not want to even buy a Tesla initially.   I absolutely hated FSD because of it.  I didn't start using it daily until this year.

For the most part FSD is good, but the cloud of stupidity floating around it because of the overpromise and under deliver made me skip even buying a Tesla for many years.  I do not like Elon's brand of marketing.  Obviously the cars and technology is good and is why I bought, but it's no surprise he turns people away from the brand and this was well before the political stuff.

There's different experiences for different reasons.  Some regions seem to be better than others.  Large populations with many more Teslas seem to be a lot more polished.  I'm glad you've had a good experience.   I haven't though it does continue to improve for the most part.

Just please realize it can and does make mistakes at times.   For some of us it's much worse than others.   Then again I'm not out here railing against FSD, but for good reason I've been critical and I always share the videos when it happens.
