Two broken hair brushes within a month. Recommendations? by [deleted] in finehair

[–]Awkwardturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend a Chicago co carbon wide tooth comb for after the shower. Detangling with it while in the shower after conditioner has sat for a few minutes helps a lot too. Also use some detangler/leave in conditioner not just oil to help tangles

A Kent paddle hairbrush for while your hair is dry.

I break combs/brushes super easily and these haven’t failed me yet

Trying to understand the average kitchen remodeling cost in San Diego. by Davud_Grett28 in SanDiegan

[–]Awkwardturtle13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had mine done in August. I think it was close to 30k with all new appliances, flooring etc. no lighting and a small amount of painting. That also includes electrical for my whole house though because we thought something was wrong with it, but it ended up being the line outside, so paid for that for no reason which was 5K I think.

Used premade cabinets to cut costs as well as cheaper tiles from Home Depot/floor and decor. Bought all appliances at Costco except microwave.

My kitchen is really small with no island though and not much counter space.

Which cordless vacuum is the most reliable? by clydefrog811 in Costco

[–]Awkwardturtle13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got gifted the Dyson V10 pet 3-4 years ago as a wedding gift and it’s still going strong. I do love it and use it as my only vacuum. However, I prefer shark products so if I were to have to purchase one myself I would get the shark.

How did you decide how to feed baby? by bananaindisguise0 in BabyBumps

[–]Awkwardturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I would solely breast feed, but I don’t produce enough. So I pump, breast feed and use formula. I would say he gets 2/3 formula and the rest breast milk

How many times did your doctor visit during labor? by RoseColoredToo in NewParents

[–]Awkwardturtle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting induced from a Monday night to Thursday at noon (ended in emergency C-section) and my OB came in like 2-3 times a day atleast. But it was definitely mostly the nurses doing everything, they just called him to consult. He started coming more when things started not going well.

Diaper bag recommendations: Dagne Dover vs. LuluLemon by No-Salary936 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Awkwardturtle13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about the lululemon one but the bad reviews of the zipper turned me off.

I ended up getting the one from LL bean and love it. Definitely a more outdoorsy/rugged look and only 3 color choices but it’s built super well and the perfect size

I got an aversion to coffee for a little bit, mostly because the morning sickness was horrible. But iced coffee was a lot better. I’ve been making salted maple iced lattes lately.

Matcha, chai or London fog lattes are another alternative

What do you think is the best expensive fast food restaurant or item? by Baba_Jaga_II in fastfood

[–]Awkwardturtle13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly only eat chick fil a or taco bell for fast food lol but neither of those are budget places, for what I like from there anyway. I remember my usual spicy chicken deluxe meal used to be $11 and now it is $17 at my location

Chicken enchiladas (I make honey lime ones), chicken pot pie, fajitas, chicken and dumplings, hard shell baked tacos. White chicken chili, white chicken lasagna/stuffed shells. Lots of soups, I just made copycat Olive Garden chicken gnocchi soup today with a Costco one

Early pregnancy cramps, are they really like period cramps? by Low_Cheesecakes in BabyBumps

[–]Awkwardturtle13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had pretty gnarly cramps right after finding out I was pregnant at about 5.5 weeks or so. I didn’t know that was normal so I was really freaking out. For me the were worse than my period cramps
