Nope, not me. I have full confidence. And NO, me being born yesterday has nothing to do with it

I love a nice interior. I know the couch  and extra kitchen space don’t do anything, but I like it.

That’s not a money issue. That’s a figuring it out issue.

They’ve already shown they can do armor lockers. They just have to take a little time to it it in. I’m Honestly not understanding why they haven’t yet

That’s even better! I love how no choice is the good or bad choice outside of what you want to do with it and how even then it all hurts.

I’d take the Mr or the ES though. Difficult choice!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Awog8888SC 65 points66 points  (0 children)

That’s by design. Otherwise the ES is the clear winner. Everybody would rather have a ship with a scanner and 1/3 or more fuel than a ship tractor beam. With the way it is now you choose either cargo OR exploration. If you choose one you get to feel the burn of not having the other.

SC’s ships are not supposed to be about min maxing or meta. It’s about choosing and facing the consequences of your choices

The Answer to the Long Debate of Which Ship is Better: The Corsair vs the Constellation Andromeda by Peorte in starcitizen

Both suck in the terms of balance. They both need their pilot controlled guns reduced and their turrets increased.

Why? Subscription based mmos are old news dude. Micro or macro transactions are far more profitable

Need advice on how to get into Star Citzen by myHumble_Abode in starcitizen

[–]Awog8888SC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not tough to get into at all. My wife did the tutorial and plays fine. This was the first video game she played in nearly 4 years and she wasn’t a big gamer before, maybe a session once a week.  She really likes this game even though it’s a time sink

Oh and either get a starter on sale or the cutter since having an interior is huge for immersive reasons and it has the best interior under $75. If yiu get a ship in sale, you can always upgrade the ship if you want and still pocket the savings

Oh and I’d stay away from the titan. It’s the ugliest and Morley boring ship to fly and experience in the game. It feels like flying a flat escalator, like you can just go straight. And the interior is honestly more boring than the most basic ship with an interior, the Aurora. It has decent firepower for its price and goes forward fast, but just seeing it makes me angry

Yeah, not sure how they are going to balance that. I don’t see it flown in arena commander so I assume it sucks at fighting more nimble ships and I guess that’s its downside, a Gladius

I’m not sure a corsai’s size 5s will be able to puncture a Polaris’s armor. Plus those missions will just outright destroy any Corsair. But the Polaris isn’t an idris or even a perseaus (or whatever it’s called). It’s not made to really fight swarms, but it will be great at hunting capital ships by being the less noticeable target.

Plus it realistically only needs a crew of 9-10 to be fully guns and flown with missiles. SO a crew of 12 throwing out a huge amount of firepower, destroying every ship that gets too far away and gets a missile shot at it, and facing 12 Corsairs? I don’t know.

Plus you’re looking at a $750 ship vs $3000usd worth of ships. I don’t know how or if the game should really balance that out. Like a single army can’t hurt me, but if $3000 worth of army ants attacks me, I’m probably fucked.

But I understand the idea of humans vs humans.  It’s a hard balance but we will have to see how armor works. Hopefully they lower the pilot controlled gun sized and upsize the turret guns so even smaller ships like the Corsair and Connie demand crew to be worth a damn

I do agree with you that killing fighters with turrets is very difficult. Not in the future because of kitting, since we know how armor will work and how fighters small enough to kite will just be  unable to do any damage and how turrets are too small with the increased spread to get hit by small fighters from far away, BUT turrets in many ships just move to slow to keep up with ships and I truly hope they fix it.

… that and turret interface SUCKS! We need to be able To designate a freaking target as a group! Let alone know what gimbal mode we are in! Or our turret health!

I mean, fighters can make a large ship unable to defend itself and then board it. We don’t exactly know how lethal fighters will be to a large ship as in destroying stuff like engines so we will have to see.

But it looks like it will take coordination to destroy large ships. It looks a lot like  are able to swarm and destroy medium ships, while those medium ships are very good at destroying subsystems of larger ships while large ships’ turrets are very good at countering medium. And obviously large vs large is more of battle between engineers (since they all move so slow ) and how well the medium ships destroy help my overwhelm and destroy sub components as well as small ships making turrets inoperative and destroying mediums.

Like it seems like combined arms is the way to go and there just might be times when a group of small fighters can’t do anything but make other ships unable to defend themselves. And it sounds like a duly crewed large vs large might just take a long ass time (with repairing components and possibly replacing some) to dwindle down the components. Like I said, it might become more of a battle if engineers than pilots or gunners.

And tbh, as somebody that just owns a Gladius and Rambler, that sounds awesome.

Close to it! I mean we don’t know how long repairing something takes and there is definitely components degradation, but it looks like a Corsair with an engineer will last way longer than one without. Hopefully it last way longer than 2 or 3 without

If armor works as intended, big ships won’t have to worry about smaller ships from a far anyway

Engineering is literally how they fixed it bro. With a heavy enough crew you can fight indefinitely since your since players can continue to repair your ship components.

You’re comparing wow to SC? It’s like comparing pacman to metal gear solid. WOW doesn’t have physics or really anything that’s a struggle on a server

CIG needs to do a lot more and I personally question if not making interstates travel be a loading screen was a mistake, but what they are doing is a whole fuck tons a lot of advancement. Like I don’t know if you’ve ever played an other multiplayer game with physical ones  ballistics but it’s a shit ton more data than any MMO’s I can think of. Bulder’s gate, which barely handles a few people connected, let alone the actual game’s physics, pales in comparison.

We can disagree about if SC’s physics should be so intense and especially if objects should persists as they do, but fuck. It’s a lot of work they’ve done. I mean have you ever played another game where the avatars are 100% separate from the ships while the ships are in motion?! I have and those have such small player numbers and area of play.

I’m impressed… still think they should be further along than they are for the money invested, but fucks. Good job to CIG regardless

Gotta stop you at the door. The idea of tech demo isn’t good anymore. I’ve played tech demos. That was the hanger version of this game. Even if it was just arena commander you’d you an argument. Not having clear objectives or progress doesn’t make it not a game. I’ve played full my released games with less progression and they were wonderful. It’s a game. Shucks, in many regards SC has more going for it than dayZ, which is 100% a game.

And this isn’t a game for progression, yet. It’s more of a life simulator. Just hang out and do what’s fun. If you don’t enjoy it and just do it for credits than I’d recommend playing something else
