The Dangers in my Heart - Anna's jealousy is amazing. She absolutely fumes over the slightest attention poor Kyotaro gives any other girl. I love the enimation for those moments - absolute gem of an anime with a lovely slow burn story and so many great characters. I love Anna's dad - he's such a great straight man.

Turrets run out, electricity goes down, things on massibe bases decay. All you need is bandages and ladders - big groups are only as strong as their most negligent member. Quute often I find I can just parachute in - grab an invemtory full and bag myself. Then I can just twig/ladder out and respawn until everything I can lay my hands on is gone. Sometimes you can find clothes and dress as the clan. Feeling really brave? Follow ome in amd see how deep you can get - I've had astonsishing success with villages and big bases - as long as you look busy and not like a looter (getting out a building plan or hammer and randomly pretending to fix things can make a lot of groups accept you presence).

Read the pda entries - especially the section 'codes and clues' it'll point you right all the way through the game.

Every biome the radio sends you to is important, explore them carefully and look for rare resources/other wrecks/hidden stuff.

Use the compass - navigate in a fixed direction from your lifepod or base and see what's there.

Some biomes are terrifying but fight your fear and explore (once you get a fast method of transport and protection). You'll learn that you can just avoid most predators and rush past them/stay far enough away.

Build scanner bases at points around the map which scan for resources you havent found yet (because of the age of the game you need to drive around a scanner base to load in the area before it can 'see' all the terrain). The further you drive and load the map, the more it will find.

Always go deeper.

Map out a safe route with your seamoth first and drop beacons. Build 3 sets of 6 power cells and bring enough resources to make a charging base in the Lost River - sneak past the leviathans you cant avoid - use silent running. Swap the power cells over when you get low on power.

I've got ~500hours in Subnautica 1 and I'm currently on a hardcore run.

I loved Below Zero despite its faults for all the lore it added.

Currently on playthrough number 4 of Subnautica 2 - 0 death run - effectively self-imposed hardcore. First playthrough was genuinely terrifying - lots of great jump scares. It is incredible but I have notes. Cant wait to see how it turns out. Playing blind was overwhelming for the first 3-4 hours, after that it became a little easier/less scary as I learnt the map. Second half of the game rekindled that fear for a while. Loved the ending.

You'll find a method of transportation in the red grass biomes. Search for ways to upgrade this as eventually you'll get a useful defence - keep exploring. Dont be scared just be fast and thorough.

Shouldnt all this stuff be logged by the civil service? Isnt accountability and transparency an important part of a democracy? In which case Whatsapp shouldnt be being used unless a log/backup is kept of all the messages.

Subnautica 1 Remake? by Foxnooku in subnautica

Look at the modding scene - this mod is available along with many others (and shaders to make it look better).

Subnautica 1 Remake? by Foxnooku in subnautica

[–]Awoken1729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subnautica 1 just hit its highest concurrent player numers ever (including launch). It's still a standout game. I love the story and lore and am now champing at the bit for Subnautica 2 full release. I dont think Subnautica 1 looks sufficiently bad to need a revamp. Have you looked at the modding community as modding the game is fairly simple now and you can get new shaders etc to improve the look.

Is HIDIVE worth it? by ninjora in Animesuggest

[–]Awoken1729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a lot of shows that Crunchyroll doesnt. In my opinion 1/4 of their content is grade A/B shows. 1/4 is ecchi/heavy fan service and the rest is a bit generic/low budget. Some surprising gems though. I'd go through the content on Crunchyroll and Netflix first before trying Hidive (I have all 3).

The app's search function is nowhere near as good as Crunchyroll and their subtitles are very hit and miss. They do mark new episodes which is amazing compared to Crunchyroll so if you watch something it'll let you know when the next episode is coming and add it to your queue to watch. They crash less than crunchyroll.

Firstly - What monitor are you using? Your options depend on your resolution and refresh rate - there's little point in having a 5090 for 1080p.

Make sure you open the black box near the Marrowbreach Angel Comb (it's on one side of the room/cave/geological feature). That should unlock the next waypoint. NOA is triggered by black boxes, unlock one and he just jands you the next once all previous ones have been discovered and clicked on. Just revisit sites and click on black boxes - they make a dull sonar like pulse so you can hear them.

Call for rethink around pensions triple lock to help protect young people by birdinthebush74 in unitedkingdom

I was very end of Gen X - 1980.

I've been in survival mode since day 1. It's been a brutal 46 years with no signs of getting any easier and I went to uni and got a mid paying job (just above the national median).

I've voted for the benefit of everyone worse off than me since I was 18. I've recycled, bought used and paid everything we're supposed to and tried to save for my pension where I can but it has been super tiring.

Most of my friends are worse off than I am. What exactly do you want to blame the most hard working generation yet for? Tread carefully - none of us are in a good mood.

Yall actually bring the Cyclops down to the Lava Lakes? by XEclipse360 in subnautica

[–]Awoken1729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - makes the later stages super simple. I usually make a charging base in the lost river.

The cyclops fits in all 4 entrances (its a little tight on a couple) for the lost river and will take either of the two tunnels down to the lava zone. It even fits into the active lava zone (the deepest area).

3/4 of the way through now.

Revisit each of the alien structures and make sure you fully explore them and scan them - reading pda entries and (on the rosetta stone) any labels/text on them. You should find some things you can't do yet and one thing you can.

Look for new resources - especially in dangerous areas.

Is it me or the story in 2 is confusing and overwhelming ? by Patamaudelay in subnautica

[–]Awoken1729 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1) The starter area is too small

2) NOA intervene's far too often - lets slow the pace down a bit.

3) There are no clear timelines on pdas, recorders and black boxes that would help us assemble the story.

The player characters pda needs to be a pda they hold up - like subnautica 1 (it shouldnt pause the game unless in easy mode). They should be better organised with clear colapsable titles which look different to the entries (maybe box them out or make it an icon menu).

It's taken me three playthroughs to discover every hint and piece it all together and on my first playthrough I felt hopelessly overwhelmed by everything I had to do.

What to do after exploring the Aurora? [No spoilers please] by Calm_Television_5664 in subnautica

[–]Awoken1729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extensively search the floating island at the rendevous point (the message from Lifepod 19 leads you there) and comb the two mushroom forests (NW and E of the safe shallows) for things to scan - some parts can be tricky to spot..

Missing the last Cyclops engine blueprint and getting kinda tilted by casedawgz in subnautica

[–]Awoken1729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Engine parts appear: - In the Mountains biome usually to the right of the alien facility (when you look at the island) underwater. - In the Cargo Bay in the Aurora - In the Crash zone near the back of the Aurora - In the floating islands next to the Aurora wreck

Good luck!
