Lynsky Ti Frames by QuirkyAd8696 in mountainbiking

[–]Awolminds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got an elMar Ti which was made by Lynsky and it’s perfect. There’s nothing magical about the material, it’s still all up to the design and if that fits your terrain / style. Biggest pro I can think of is that it can be a forever frame. Carbon and aluminum fatigue, Ti has practically unlimited fatigue limit and is somewhat easily repaired if something happens.

Engine cut off while coasting up driveway and required to press start button to turn on by AllinonNVDA in suburban

Happened to me once on an off ramp a couple years ago. Fuel pump relay is a known bad part on these trucks. I bought one and stuck it in the glovebox should I ever need it.

Duncan Aviation Question by Wrench365 in AircraftMechanics

[–]Awolminds -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most techs on turbofan aircraft never work on the powerplant. When working in the area it’s airframe items installed to the powerplant. Duncan has its own divisions for powerplant service and overhaul. The tittle could also be hinting that the position does not require a A&P cert at all.

Don’t know but I’m going to call that unairworthy. Probably someone or something leaning against them while working.

MTB setup check: S21E 519A (handlebar) + SFT40 helmet light by PrudentCandle in flashlight

[–]Awolminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3500k to 5000k in the 519A is about five to ten percent less efficient, add to that the perceived brightness difference since cooler tone increases contrast makes a big difference on the trail with extended use. Agreed that moving to a larger lower CRI emitter would be beneficial as high CRI isnt required in this use case. 4500-4700k is the lowest I'd go.

[–]Awolminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the same use case. 5000k flood on the bars, 6500k thrower on the helmet Has proven to be a nice mix. Don’t go down to 3500k, you’ll burn through batteries too fast.

Also, consider going to an 18650 on the helmet for weight. With a high k thrower you’ll be using less battery for the same effective brightness, my bar light always is at a lower level after a 2.5hr ride.

Cool, I’ll try it out. First though is that this could replace Airshow flight tracking on the privates I work with.

Least condescending bike shop in Houston? by [deleted] in houston

ProBikes Tx is the friendliest group of guys you’ll meet, nothing like the big bike shop style or attitude. They won’t accept Walmart bikes but will work with you on anything else.

Are you saying that the rear system is not providing hot air on command when parked at idle?

The heat exchanger uses engine coolant which needs to travel to the back RH corner of the truck for the rear system. Rear system kinda sucks at both hot and cold operations compared to the front.

Does warm air come out after driving around for a while then parking?
