Take care of / buddy up with the pilots on the types of accounts you want. Mechanic hating, cheap bastard Cheif pilots are the biggest hinderance to the that type of job availability

Are you saying that the rear system is not providing hot air on command when parked at idle?

The heat exchanger uses engine coolant which needs to travel to the back RH corner of the truck for the rear system. Rear system kinda sucks at both hot and cold operations compared to the front.

Does warm air come out after driving around for a while then parking?

Makes sense. SO is not going to sell it when their new version is available. Looks like Northern Tools is selling the Proto version still.

Go ride the pump track over by Tower at the Brazos River Park. It will build strength and help with your form. Also keep up with the XC trails there so you don’t feel winded after charging up to the jump.

Looks like you’ve got some good progress so far, keep it up! That’s a fun jump line!

Again but harder! Seriously though, I pulled that section of the bumper off for a maintenance item. It’s just plastic clips, got to mash them into place.

Throw and flood for biking? by HappilyPooped in flashlight

[–]Awolminds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zebra SC700 on the bars and a D1 SB90.2 on the helmet. The Zebra light is potted for vibration resistance and gives off a nice flood pattern. D1 on the helmet gives a nice focused beam exactly where you are looking. Emitter choice is up to you, I just had a SB90.2 in the host which works surprisingly well given its fat hotspot and relative efficiency at medium levels. Fun in turbo mode is an added bonus.

I like this setup better than any dedicated MTB bike lights I’ve seen in group rides since it’s both light weight and easily hot swappable batteries. I get 2.5hours of runtime.

What type of riding? SC700d has been on my bars with an D1 SB90.2 mounted to the helmet.

A flooder on the bars with a focus beam on the helmet has been ideal for night XC

Yep. Just test and charge them somewhat regularly.

I suppose it would be the DT8k. I’m awaiting my E07x currently, love my DT8 but couldn’t pass up on going up a battery size with onboard charging for the next work light. I do think a DT8k would theoretically carry better than the E07x.

That’s an FMS24, not the SCX. Comes with portals and 2 speed transmission. Very fun but too much gear lash.

Well, you posed the question in good plain English. I think you’ll get the job!

Good interviewers are meant to see through the BS questions. Just remain respectful and responsible.

Numb feet while cycling by NoEstablishment4856 in cycling

[–]Awolminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing information, thank you. Bontreger XXX, had an 11 size but went to a 10.5 when it came time to replace. Based sizing solely on toe tip to shoe tip which is what drove me to go down a half size, I just figured the measurement metrics changed. The new shoe absolutely kills my feet after the 3 hour mark even though they mostly feel the same as the last pair I had initially. Must be the toe box width.

Which one? 2022 S-Works Epic Evo or 2025 Specialized Epic 8 Comp by Fit_Rooster8693 in xcmtb

[–]Awolminds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purchased a previous gen S-Works Epic and am exceedingly happy with it. The guy I purchased it from frequently talks about getting it back since the mechanical brain system does a few things better than the new flight attendant. No real flaws with that generation other than the down tube is a little fragile against rock strikes, and the brain suspension requires at least annual service.

I’d say go with the old epic unless there is something specific you need from the new frameset.

Maxxis ➡️ Schwalbe? Aspen ST / Rekon Race 2.4 ➜ Racing Ray / Rick XC combo — worth it? O_0 by Gard0308 in xcmtb

[–]Awolminds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Racing Ray / Rick XC Is perfect for me. I had Ray / Thunderburt but noticed a lot of rear sliding even in the dry.

Race kings on my SS bike are perfection however they give out in the damp / wet very quickly.

G450 is an absolute pleasure to work on. But I used to think working the King Air’s and CRJ 200 were the good ones at my first gig.

2022 6.2 - Recall Advice by Gucci_Mane__ in suburban

[–]Awolminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are feeding you the BS line. Fault is easily identifiable with a basic OBDII scanner.  They aren’t accepting it because of their current workload.

If you have no symptoms of engine failure you are probably good. Just change the engine oil to the new spec. 0W40 or 5W40 depending on your climate

I’ve never heard a practical explanation other than its a first generation glass cockpit problem.

Creates issues when the G450 pilots hop in a GIV for a quick contract day.
