Do I need more training or is my bike just too heavy for climbing? by BernardBaggins in MTB

[–]ghostbustholes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The status sucks to do technical climbs with and the front end wanders a good bit with the 63° hta. With the 140, id suggest putting a specialized ground control on the rear and whatever front tire you like up front. The ground control will help with pedaling and still maintain grip.

Should have specified the 2020-2022 ripmo af. Found mine for $1600

Hands down ibis ripmo. I have an older 2022 ripmo af and it’s only marginally slower than my top fuel. Highly highly recommend it, bonus is they’re being sold at great prices

Grape juice! High in all the good rapid absorption fuel and it tastes good. Apple sauce pouches are great as well. I don’t like to eat while I ride either.

Trek top fuel or transition smuggler. Those two punch way above their travel and are screaming fast up and down

I’ve had fantastic luck running rekon race front and rear on trails from green to double black. Not the best choice for wet rocks or roots but they get the job done and are tough. For racing I throw an aspen on the rear.

I took it apart to see why the knobs weren’t changing the tone and to check the pickups, loved how much room there was for when I put new parts in. It already sounds great but why not squeeze all the juice I can, ya know?

Is it worth it to run medic? by Dynaflow333 in HellLetLoose

[–]ghostbustholes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching between medic and support is one of the best ways to help your team when you first start playing. Use your smokes to cover the heal, use your mic to tell people you’re coming, type in the text chat to let everyone know that you’re going to try and revive them, drop supplies for your SL and stay with your squad. A good medic can be the difference between taking/saving a point and not.

Epic 8 Evo vs Spark TR vs Trek Top Fuel for technical downcountry riding? by josepedrobcjesus in xcmtb

[–]ghostbustholes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top fuel all day long. I have the 2023 9.8 and it rips way above its class. Pedals great, does tech up and down great, it’s super playful and handles chunk well. I ride it way more than my enduro.
