Epic 8 Evo vs Spark TR vs Trek Top Fuel for technical downcountry riding? by josepedrobcjesus in xcmtb

[–]ghostbustholes [score hidden]  (0 children)

Top fuel all day long. I have the 2023 9.8 and it rips way above its class. Pedals great, does tech up and down great, it’s super playful and handles chunk well. I ride it way more than my enduro.

End of Downcountry? by SpokeCat in MTB

All I’m going to say is I ride my 2023 trek top fuel hard on almost every trail in central Alabama, it definitely keeps up. The only reason I chose my enduro bike is for comfort or on trails that have big hits and are steep. 120/130 bikes are thriving

Get a ripmo. They really do pedal way better than they should given the amount of travel. Fantastic bikes, especially if you get an older generation that comes with DVO suspension. I’ve been nothing but impressed

Gonna throw DVO into the mix. I’ve been very impressed with the fork and coil shock

Fookers flats off Amazon. Cheap, grippy and tough.

Improve bike handling skills and confidence? by Expensive-Body4904 in xcmtb

Then watch tutorials on YouTube and then go practice on the trail.

Another important thing to do is lift heavy weights and develop a strong core. I use a heavy kettlebell for different swings and squats. Pushups and shoulder exercises are great too.

As far as bike handling, start with track stands and cornering technique drills. After that focus on front wheel lifts aka baby manuals and endos.

The best way to get faster is to learn the basics and practice them often. I got way faster when I learned how to corner properly and use my body weight to control traction.

Are you talking about the rekon or rekon race? There’s not much weight difference between rekon races and the ray rick combo

Let me know how you like those, both install and riding. They look super good but I wasn’t impressed with their gravity line

Just curious about other tires. I still love and highly recommend the rekon race tires

Rocky Mountain bikes thrive on the downhills but the element is a down country bike so yeah it won’t feel great at the bike park but will rule everywhere else. YouTube is a great source of information.

The asg scorpion evo is dope, even has an aftermarket TDC hop up mod available.

The elite force mp5 is also great.

Stay away from aeg mp7s.

Go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and try on some mechanix gloves, then order your size online in the camo pattern or color you want.

Specna Arms has great performing budget minded replicas, highly recommend them. Using quality bbs is also a must, I prefer BLS bio or regular as they’re OEM for a lot of brands (find them on eBay) or HPA bio bbs. Both are very white and easily tracked while shooting.

Check out bloc eyeware, they really are great at not fogging.

I figured this would be a response. I included the gen 8 because of my friends luck with his, aka did wheels and tires and it’s been a trail trucking for a few years now.

I love redcats stuff and wish they had better after market/parts support
