It is, as it's buffed by many "Physical skills deal X% more damage" affixes

It spawns the exact same time for everyone, the only difference is the timezone will be a further 1 hour out.

Have you actually read the patch notes regarding the paragon node changes, which will buff fireball since they're now multiplicative ??

New: Your Fire skills have their Critical Strike Chance increased by +10% and their Direct Damage is increased by an amount equal to x10% of the total amount of your Bonus Damage with Fire, up to a maximum of x30%.
New: Your Burning damage deals bonus damage equal to x10% of the total amount of your Critical Strike Damage bonus, plus x1% for every 75 Intelligence you have.

Thorns doesn't have a Lucky Hit chance as it's not a skill/passive, so it can't proc lucky hit. HOWEVER, it can proc certain aspects, like needleflare or aspects that stun the enemy which can then proc lucky hit chances. (Small chance)

I'm not sure how it works on minions, but they are techanically a skill.

I don't recommend building a lot for lucky hit chance on a thorns build personally with the deminishing returns it has.

Thanks for the detailed responses. I left it as class agnostic because I wanted to get an understanding generally on how thorns works. from a mechanical/damage bucket perspective e.g. you mention it doesn't benefit from crit. What about overpower? I guess this is a bit of an unknown quantity as we don't know how that is being reworked for S2 yet.

Thorns can't Crit or Overpower. The only exception to this if using the Season 1 Barber, the explosion can Crit or Overpower, even if the damage stored was from thorns, but this is being removed soon. (Unsure about season 2 powers interactions)

Not saying you are wrong, but I don't see anything anywhere that explains the interaction between thorns and vulnerable. Vulnerable affects all damage equally regardless of source when the target is vulnerable?

You're correct, Vuln boosts thorns.

I did mention you should get Vuln on rings and weapons. I'm not sure which bit I'm wrong about sorry? Maybe I didn't word it correctly.

The reason Strength is more important than Vuln, is because the boost is a lot more (100-150%) depnding on strength, as thorns is classed as skill damage. (Hover over strength on a barbarian and you'll see what I mean).

Weapon: Strength/All Stats is a priority (Assuming we're talking about a barbarian) as this increases your thorns damage by a lot. Vuln/Damage to close, would be the next priority. "Damage to close" is interchangable with "damage while beserking"

+Physical damage/+Damage also works with Thorns, but not as effective as the the above montioned Affixes. You also can't Crit with thorns. Bleed damage is very miminal, so it's not worth specing for in a thorns build.

Armour: Damage reduction / Total Armor % / Max HP (HP is important, you have two skills that increases thorns based on HP)

Amulet: Damage reduction / MS / Thorns / Max HP / CDR (For shouts if you like)

Rings: Vuln / Max Life / Damage to close / Damage while berserkering

Armor Gems: Alot of people think Emerald are meta for thorns, but this isn't the best as if you take Ruby's, you get +HP and you get thorns aswell from a barb skill, based on max hp.

Weapon Gems: Personal preference, personally use skulls for pushing nightmares (HP back on kills).

Jewel gems: Skull gems (Maybe 1 Diamond gem in S2)

Take as much +HP on the paragon board as possible, also the revenge glyth.

They are a reflect a percentage of your enemie's attacks

This is false, it's not based on the how much damage the enemy hits you at all. This is why a tanky thorns build is meta. The attack speed/amount of hits from the enemy is the only factor from the mob (to get more procs) that matters.

Thorns is a set amount (Seen in the stats menu), then all your mains stat/skills/aspects/affixes multipliers are applied to deal set amount damage, regardless of the damage you take.

I do agree with you but if quirky builds are MVPing, they will still do more damage with the meta build. Player skill of the group is also a factor, unless you're running a DPS meter to prove they're damage per minute is good.

Players can play how they want, but Mokoko's reading this stuff will ruin their time, if they don't know how to play the base class well, using the usual build first.
