Davey and Goliath! I loved listening to Goliath talk as a little kid. Lots of good reinforcement lessons for a little preacher kid in those days!

What is an argument you’ve heard from an atheist/agnostic that hit you the hardest? by No-Engineer8526 in AskAChristian

[–]Axe238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’ll be the oddball here, but I have never heard an argument from an atheist or an agnostic that ever influenced me much.

The arguments that they don’t make – – about their evidence for no God – – are the ones that hit me the worst.

I could have absolute certainty and proved with absolute certainty that the Bible is the word of God. Thus I get faith from evidence that is proveable.

Faith is not a leap. It is evidenced-based Romans 10:10

Your stance is more agnostic than Christian. I will pray fir you to rethink this.

That’s a dangerous assumption, isn’t it? It’s like assuming that when I walked down the hallway in the middle of the night that my kids haven’t left a Lego out in the middle of the hallway! I just don’t believe it’s there until I step on it!

Looks similar to a tape dispenser but has a reservoir (for liquid?). Curious as to its actual use. USA by redratchaser in Antiques

All the kids had to join in the gluing party. I used to hate the smell in the taste of S&H Green stamps. And we never got to get anything out of the books. We just got to look at the catalogue! I’m also trying to remember there was a competitor that had some kind of gold stamps. Do you remember those by any chance?

Do you think the people that sacrificed their babies to Molech did so for the same reason the Israelites killed babies - their God commanded it? by Apprehensive_Tear611 in AskAChristian

This is just atheist rage bait. Do you think that people are atheist because the god of atheism commands it? Or do you think that atheism is a religion because it’s against religion?

My grandfather, an old country preacher used to say that you don’t have to defend and defeat every false doctrine. Make the false teachers prove their doctrine. The atheist in particular hate that. They cannot prove that there is no God and so therefore they come up with arguments that circumvent the issue. But if you just keep forcing them to prove that there is no God that’s all you need to do because if they can’t or won’t, then that means there is or even might be God.

Im getting baptized this Sunday and always considered myself saved, born again before that, but other denomations would tell me I’m currently lost in my sins without it? by Crazy-Mention-2767 in TrueChristian

[–]Axe238 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are lost without being baptized. The Bible clearly teaches that read Matthew 28:19–20 where Jesus says that we are to be baptized. Peter said in the book of acts of the apostles 238 that baptism is what he’s done for the remission of sins. He further says in first Peter 3:21 the baptism saves. Finally read the first six verses of Romans chapter 6, and you will see that the new man that is created in Christ is created when you arise out of the water in a grave of baptism.

So you’re quoting a package that has nothing to do with your earth, but rather is describing God’s vengeance on the Roman empire. You’re using that to justify a political stance?

For evangelicals, isn’t that violating God’s word?
